Story
The world went silent when the mist came. Following a sonic blast heard around the world as the gates of Aites were thrown open, the mist clung to the mortal world, but it was not empty. Creatures dwelled within the mist, and when the mist left, they remained. Yet, with the ravagers another came forth. The gatekeeper, Charu strode across the land in hunt of his quarry, those spirits which had broken through the barrier. With his lamp of souls, he moves over the world capturing the spirits and bringing death to those driven to madness, infected by exposure to their miasmatic taint.

Story
There's an anomaly corrupting the streets of the night club district. A paranormal vortex sits among the vibrating walls and neon lights, dormant. It is only awoken by the angst of an edgy teenager, triggering the beginning of the end. It was a simple ghost tour, that was until it all went wrong. The effects of that night would haunt Thaddeus as he spent the next five years in the mental health unit, seeing things and hearing a voice that the medication couldn't silence. Thaddeus could never forget the striking tour guide, Algernon, and his stupid smile.

Freeman is a genius with an uncommon mixture of memory, intelligence and creativity. He lives in a worldwide utopia, but it was not always so. There was a time known as the Grind—when Freeman’s people lived as slaves to another race referred to simply as “Master.” They were property. But a civil rights movement emerged. Change seemed near, but the Masters refused to bend. Instead, they declared war. And lost. Now, the freed world is threatened by a virus, spread through bites, sweeping through the population.

Story
Afterlife, just a place for an unhappy king to call home or soon to become a beacon of hope when a new waitress falls at his feet? The Gothic nightclub is about to welcome a new guest, and this time it is one he can’t control. As for Dominic Draven, the king of all supernatural life, handling just one little mortal named Keira should be no problem for him…right? Wrong! As she is his chosen one, she is not meant to be ruled by a domineering, overbearing, arrogant boss who is determined to keep her at arm’s length.

This is suspense at its best. With interesting characters and spectacular writing, this short book had me hooked from the beginning and held my interest all the way through to the end. For these reasons I’ll continue to read/listen to books by this author.

Addicting and Intriguing
Who are Professor Darkk and Miss Shadow? That is a very interesting question that keeps me wanting more. I am hooked on this series I can't wait to hear more from this author. I love the Alex Hyde-White as the narrator he makes me laugh because he brings so much life and depth into the characters. I highly recommend this book because it is addicting and intriguing. I received this book from Audiobooks Unleashed and this is my unbiased review I wish the book was longer but I loved it all the same.

A Wonderfully Entertaining Adventure
I received this book for free. I am voluntarily leaving this review and all opinions expressed herein are mine.
This is an introductory short story to the series The Mysterious World of Professor Darkk and Miss Shadow. The story is simple - there is a haunted house on abandoned street which has an evil presence that must be contained. However, the characters and the descriptions of the images are vivid and compelling. The story draws you in from the beginning and won't let you go until the end. I, like other reviewers, wished the story had been longer but that's only because it was so good that you did not want it to end. While not a lot is revealed about the MC, it is an introduction and certainly enough was revealed regarding their jobs, their powers and their relationship with each other and with "evil" that completely captivate you into wanting to know more. I can't wait to visit with these characters again.
The narrator, Alex Hyde-White, is terrific. He completely captures the mood of the story and personalities of the characters. His narration brought this world to life.

Prof Darkk & miss shadow get their first full story
I enjoyed the prequel story so this book zero is double the length and packed with promise for some really great tales to come. The entity that haunts this house has knowledge of Darkk that he shouldn’t and it’s source is highly intriguing. The powers of both Darkk and shadow are more fully revealed. It’s truly a great tale for fans of the mystic and of the paranormal. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator or publisher

Good Story but it's too short
This book was engaging, interesting, descriptive, and fast paced, but I felt like the book was too short. I wish it was longer. I would have given this book a higher rating if it was longer!
**** For a short book, I give kudos for the following:
1) Author incorporates sufficient details that are descriptive.
2) The book is fast paced; however, the storyline is complex for a short book.
3) The narrator brings the story to life. I was imagining the scene from beginning to the end. This boasted the rating to 4.0 Stars for the audiobook.
If you are looking for an light, enjoyable read, this may be the audiobook for you!

Short listen
It was ok kinda a little too mellow for my taste but some may really enjoy it. Never know it wasn't horrible just just not enough action for me.
