Fun & Spooky Listen

This is the latest edition of the fabulous Haunted Liverpool series. Over 30 new stories of paranormal strangeness. Unique and not found anywhere else, the author does extensive research and these gems are from his files. I love this series and he can’t write these books fast enough for me. While reading them is interesting, this book is much better on audio. Narrated by the fabulous Nigel Peever, the audiobook has character voices, music and sound effects. It’s a fun and spooky listen.

Narration deserves 6 stars

Ah, gather 'round as we embark on a wondrous auditory journey into the realm of the uncanny and the enigmatic. I present to you an exquisite creation, a symphony of words woven into an audiobook titled "Haunted Liverpool 35," authored by the remarkable Tom Slemen and brought to life by the mellifluous narration of Nigel Peever. A treasure trove of tales that will send shivers down your spine, yet keep you riveted with curiosity and fascination.

In this enthralling compilation, the author weaves a tapestry of over 50 stories, each a delicate strand in the intricate web of the paranormal. Vampires, witches, time-travelers, and ethereal faeries dance through the narrative, each tale a glimpse into the extraordinary and the otherworldly. Amongst these captivating stories, one particular theme stands out, capturing the essence of temporal enchantment—the cherished and ever-mystifying time-slip tales. These chronicles, like whispers from the past echoing through the present, tug at the strings of our imagination, inviting us to consider the tantalizing possibility of traversing through time's elusive corridors.

Yet, allow me to direct your attention towards a tale that has, in its peculiar way, illuminated my heart—a tale of the crooked candle. Oh, how it flickers and dances, casting eerie shadows upon the walls of our imagination. This candle, a vessel of the supernatural, dares to predict the harrowing future while resisting all attempts to be extinguished. It stands as a testament to the enigmatic forces that intertwine the mundane and the magical, leaving us both mesmerized and unsettled.

But let us not forget the magician behind the scenes, Nigel Peever, whose narration transports us into the very heart of these uncanny tales. With a voice that resonates like an ancient forest's melody, he brings life to every character, every emotion, infusing the stories with a vividness that captures our senses. And what a splendid touch he adds with his masterful inclusion of sound effects and music—like a playful ghostly whisper, they enhance the atmosphere and immerse us further into the mysteries at hand.

As I reflect upon the enchantment held within "Haunted Liverpool 35," I find myself drawn to the timeless allure of time slips, those narratives that remind us that reality is but a thin veil, easily pierced by the extraordinary. And yet, as the crooked candle illuminates the path to the unknown, I cannot help but feel a sense of exhilaration, a dance of excitement in the presence of the inexplicable.

So, as you immerse yourselves in this audio treasure, let the stories wash over you like gentle waves, carrying you from the familiar into the realm of the uncanny. Let your senses be enlivened by Nigel Peever's artful narration, a symphony of voices and sounds that paint pictures in the theater of your mind. And as you journey through these pages, may you find solace in the embrace of the unexplained, and may your heart be touched by the magic of the unknown.

Not as Good as previously books

Though I enjoyed parts of this book it was nowhere near as Good as previous books. The time slip chapter was way to long and not as interesting as one would expect. Narrator does a good job with the Stories.
