About this listen

What if you already met the soul mate you were destined to be with? And you didn’t even know it?

After losing her best friend to cancer, Corinne’s life is in flux. She has moved back to Chicago, is considering her next career move (or temp job), and has absolutely no time to look for love - until a mysterious dating app called Met suddenly appears on her phone, and with it, an invitation for Corinne to reconnect with four missed connections from her past. One of them, Met says, is her soul mate...

Corinne doesn’t believe the app for a second, but when she very quickly finds herself with back-to-back blasts from the past, she’ll have to consider if maybe she’s wrong about it. The thing is, Corinne’s also been introduced to a really great guy outside the app’s influence. As their feelings for each other grow, Corinne has to wonder: With her apparent true love still out there, should she tap yes to the next match?

With help from a new group of friends, her loving if annoying family, and maybe a touch of fate, can Corinne come to terms with the loss she’s still reeling from, take control of her career, and find love along the way?

nice beach read

nice but predictable. good performance by reader. Will be interesting in 10 years to see how many tech references will be dated.

Enjoyable

This was a cute quick and enjoyable story! Yes some of the things are unrealistic but isn’t that why we read things like this. I recommend it. It’s something lighthearted to take your mind off whatever you’re going through

3 stars

Have We Met by Camille Baker is a cute and clean romance story. While this is my least favorite type of romance, I like the idea of the Met app, regardless of how predictable it is. I also enjoy the sexual, gender, and ability diversity that tends to be missing from adult romance novels.

Sisi Aisha Johnson is a good narrator. I didn't like that there are quite a few distracting mispronunciations that took me out of the story.

I rate Have We Met 3 stars. This is due to both the narrator and how immature Corrine is for 27 (like her mom still paying her rent while she complained that her mom wanted her to get on her feet😳) but did enjoy her journey.

Have We Met

I love it and my most remarkable moment was when Corey took up signing, because of Cor brothers.

Unexpected Fun

I literally chose this book based upon the cover and I did not go wrong. I really enjoyed the story and how it dealt with so many real.things in life, but kept it as.lighthearted as possible. I enjoyed that the story was so inclusive without pushing some sort of issue, just as natural as it should be. I will.continue to look for.this authors work. Typing on a kindle is horrible by the way.

I enjoyed this book way more than I anticipated. I caught myself laughing out loud and smiling. This was refreshing and the narrator did a wonderful job as well.

something new for me

Nice to meet both Camille Baker and narrator Sisi Aisha Johnson. I enjoyed the story and the narration from a new voice. I look forward to more from the both of them.

I have a male lead this bisexual and up front about it but the new thing for me is that he finds love with our heroine, Corinne. He bring a little something more to the game for her. She has to be the one to make the decision on where it will all go. She has a hard time deciphering the new app met. Along the way she see good and bad thing about herself and her life. I love that she finds herself most of all.

Don't stop listening...

I feel in love with this book. It took me a minute to adjust to her voice, which made it hard to visualize Corey at first. I'm so glad that I stuck it out. It got to the point where I was watching the clock at work because I couldn't wait to start back listening. I won't spoil any of the details...

Definitely a beach read

The story was okay. Very predictable. Lots of telling instead of showing. Lots of details that the story itself didn’t need but the story was fine. No thought on the part of the reader so if you are looking for something where no thinking is involved, this story is for you.

Every buzz word or diversity group included

This book hit every topic under the sun: racially, sexually, and ability diverse friend and family groups; single parent/2 parent homes; mom's getting their groove back; Age gap romance; second time marriage; black hair tutorial; recipes; magical realism; financial planning; lack of generational wealth, etc. It felt more like a coming of age story for a girl grieving than a romance. At times I forgot that she was looking for her soulmate. The dates and romance were rushed where the other portions felt drawn out. There was a lot going on and I think this story would work for most people. The author ties all of the topics together we'll. I wanted a grown folks love story though. All of the teen like angst and failure to communicate true intentions in this story drove me crazy. It was well written. The narrator did a great job. As a good and grown woman, this just wasn't for me. Things to know: No vulgar sex included (not a plus for me, but great for others), curse words are involved
