Publisher's summary

Sometimes, doing a good deed can prove to be a disaster, as Ena, dragon shifter fae, discovers as she must flee her home. But her staff chooses to go with her and deal with the dangers to reach the safety of the hawk fae kingdom, if the king there welcomes them. The human, Brett, promises to help her escape the marriage to the despicable dragon fae prince, rather than return home to his Earth world. And now all the dragon shifter fae are at risk of having to face the dragon fae king's wrath.

Esmeralda, the hawk fae king's sister, has been imprisoned by the griffin on their island for half of her life, and she finally makes her escape - only she gets herself into even more trouble.

Against her wishes, Ena must forsake Brett on the journey, and he finds his world is turned upside down once again - and now he has to survive the life or death trials of the phantom fae kingdom.

Perfect for Young and Old!

What made the experience of listening to Hawk Fae the most enjoyable?

If you love fairies and YA fairy tales,Terry's delightful World of Fae series is just what the doctor ordered! This is a series that you can enjoy with your children or grandchildren. It's perfect for the young and old alike! LOL! I'm in my sixties and am obsessed with it!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Hawk Fae?

This was truly an exciting, action-packed installment as it included a shipwreck, No Man's Land, vampire fae, freaky sand snakey creatures, multiple sword fights, cliff-side rescues, and much, much more!

What about Elizabeth Phillips’s performance did you like?

We were introduced to Elizabeth Phillips' narration in the last book, DRAGON FAE. I still miss the narrator from the first four books, but Elizabeth has stepped up to the plate and she is doing very well. I'm so glad the series is continuing in audio form. I still miss the prior narrator's playful tones - she was perfect for this whimsical series - but Elizabeth's voice is very clear and she is doing a good job voicing the characters. I would not hesitate to pick up another book narrated by Elizabeth Phillips.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I did! There's quite a bit of humor and whimsy in every one of the books in this series and Hawk Fae is no exception. I laughed a lot...
AND... this was an action-packed installment featuring dragon shifter fae Ena's band of misfits traveling thru dangerous territory. I was on the edge of my seat for much of their journey... holding my breath at times.
AND... the ending made me gasp. If I didn't already have the next book, Phantom Fae, I would be beside myself.

Any additional comments?

In my opinion, this book would not work well as a standalone, as this particular storyline and characters were introduced in the last book, DRAGON FAE. Whereas the former books all worked well as standalones, I believe that the reader needs to be familiar with the story and the characters from the first book, THE DARK FAE, for full enjoyment of this storyline. So... if you want to jump into the series, and you don't want to read all the prior books, at least read the first book before starting fifth book. If you do it that way, you will not be lost in the current plot. Truly, every book in this series have been endearing treats that I can see myself listening to over and over again. For your maximum enjoyment, I'd highly recommend you start from the beginning as the series is best read in order.
