Publisher's summary
Today, Gigi Gorgeous is beloved for her critically acclaimed documentary, her outrageous sense of humor, her no-holds-barred honesty, and her glam Hollywood lifestyle. Ten years ago, she was a gawky Canadian teen named Gregory. In He Said, She Said, Gigi brings us on her personal journey from Gregory to Gigi, going deeper than ever before and exposing her vulnerability behind each struggle and triumph, with her signature humor at every moment.
With stunning photography and heirloom snapshots, He Said, She Said takes us back to Gigi’s early years as an Olympic-bound diver and high school mean girl, losing her mom at a tragically young age, and her journey of opening up about her sexuality and gender identity. She walks us through her transition, baring it all about dating and heartbreak in her stories of falling in love with both men and women.
Uproarious, unconventional, and unabashedly candid, Gigi shares never-before-heard stories, inspiration, and advice about how your life can take you to incredible places once you get real with yourself.

Story
When Wayne and Kelly Maines adopted identical twin boys, they thought their lives were complete. But it wasn't long before they noticed a marked difference between Jonas and his brother, Wyatt. Jonas preferred sports and trucks and many of the things little boys were "supposed" to like; but Wyatt liked princess dolls and dress-up and playing Little Mermaid. By the time the twins were toddlers, confusion over Wyatt's insistence that he was female began to tear the family apart.

Story
From breakout stand-up comedian Iliza Shlesinger comes a subversively funny collection of essays and observations on a confident woman's approach to friendship, singlehood, and relationships. "Girl Logic" is Iliza's term for the way women obsess over details and situations that men don't necessarily even notice. She describes it as a characteristically female way of thinking that appears to be contradictory and circuitous but is actually a complicated and highly evolved way of looking at the world.

For the next ten years, he was at the center of a huge pop culture phenomenon and yet, in between filming, he would go back to being a normal teenager trying to fit into a normal school. Speaking with great candor and his signature humor, Tom shares his experience.

Story
If you are transgendered, the feeling of wanting your body to match the sex you feel you are never goes away. For some, though, especially those who grew up before trans people were widely out and advocating for equality, these feelings were often compartmentalized and rarely acted upon. Now that gender reassignment has become much more commonplace, many of these people may feel increasing pressure to finally undergo the procedures they have always secretly wanted.

Julia Serano shares her experiences and insights - both pre- and post-transition - to reveal the ways in which fear, suspicion, and dismissiveness toward femininity shape our societal attitudes toward trans women, as well as gender and sexuality as a whole. Serano's well-honed arguments and pioneering advocacy stem from her ability to bridge the gap between the often-disparate biological and social perspectives on gender. In this provocative manifesto, she exposes how deep-rooted the cultural belief is that femininity is frivolous, weak, and passive.

Critic reviews
“Walking readers through career moves, surgeries, and navigating a love life while still getting to know her own evolving self and sexuality, Gorgeous writes with an open heart and empathy for her past selves (and, spoiler, a happy ending). With fun and glamorous photos, Gorgeous’ memoir is an upbeat, affirming, and thoroughly modern tale of becoming oneself.” (Booklist)
“Gigi exemplifies gorgeous in so many ways and on so many levels. From this book, you will get a sense of how gorgeous she is inside and out.” (Caitlyn Jenner, New York Times best-selling author of the The Secrets of My Life)
“I’ve followed Gigi since the beginning and have always admired her humor, kindness, strength, and honesty - but I only knew the tip of the iceberg. In He Said, She Said, Gigi shows what it means to be a queer icon and keeps you laughing along the way.” (Tyler Oakley, New York Times best-selling author of Binge)

In a strange world where Rose McGowan was continually on display, stardom soon became a personal nightmare of constant exposure and sexualization. Rose escaped into the world of her mind, something she had done as a child, and into high-profile relationships. Every detail of her personal life became public, and the realities of an inherently sexist industry emerged with every script, role, public appearance, and magazine cover. The Hollywood machine packaged her as a sexualized bombshell, hijacking her image and identity and marketing them.

In Uncle of the Year, Andrew Rannells wonders: If he, now in his forties, has everything he’s supposed to need to be an adult—a career, property, a well-tailored suit—why does he still feel like an anxious twenty-year-old climbing his way toward solid ground? In deeply personal essays, Rannells argues that we all pretend—for friends, partners, parents, and others—that we are constantly succeeding in the process known as “adulting.” But if this acting is leaving us unfulfilled, then we need new markers of time, new milestones, new expectations of what adulthood is and can be.

So often the stories shared by trans people about their transition center on gender dysphoria: a feeling of deep discomfort with their birth-assigned gender, and a powerful catalyst for coming out or transitioning. But for many non-cisgender people, it's gender euphoria that pushes forward their transition: the joy the first time a parent calls them by their new chosen name, the first time they have the confidence to cut their hair short, the first time they truly embrace themself.

From the moment war broke out across Europe in 1914, the world entered a new, unparalleled era of modern warfare. Soldiers faced relentless machine gun shelling, incredible artillery power, flame throwers, and gas attacks. Within the first four months of the war, the British Army recorded the nervous collapse of ten percent of its officers; the loss of such manpower to mental illness left the army unable to fill its ranks. Soldiers Don't Go Mad tells for the first time the story of the soldiers and doctors who struggled with the effects of industrial warfare on the human psyche.

The United States is in a 50-states-wide couples’ counseling session, thinking about filing for divorce. But is that really what we want? Can a nation composed of states that are so different possibly hang together? Colin Quinn, comedian, social commentator, and writer and star of Red State Blue State and Unconstitutional, calls us out state-by-state, from Connecticut to Hawaii. He identifies the hypocrisies inherent in what we claim to believe and what we actually do.

Such a good read
I literally couldn’t stop listening. It’s like Gigi was transported into my living room to have some girl talk while I drank my morning coffee and beat my face. I loved every minute and I hope she writes another book. 10 outta 10 would recommend

Believe it or not!
Yes, I certainly fell (past tense) into the category of people that didn't really know of you or your story or popularity. But now, I'm such a fan and will watch you on YouTube and follow you on social media. You are so very inspiring to me at this point of my life and hearing your story really hits home for me in so many ways. I really think you could be my "Betty" (but not the lying or deception part!!!) if I ever had a chance to meet you!! Keep pushing for what you believe is right and thank you thank you thank you for giving us inspiration!!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️

A must read! Learned so much.
This book is a manual for how to treat transgender people, what they want to hear and what they don’t want to hear, masquerading as a kiki session with your best girlfriend.
An incredible book on a story showcasing the tenacity of the human spirit. Gigi’s story is inspiring, revealing, devastating, educational, funny and sometimes SHOCKING but always full of heart and soul. Unapologetically honest, Gigi shows us more than she’s ever before and I thank her.
Gigi’s performance reading this audiobook really brings the words to life for me. I was surprised at how great she was! A must read for everyone. Including your maybe homophobic/transphobic family members.

Inspiring and Eye opening
Throughout the years we’ve had glimpses into Gigi’s life through her YouTube channel, and her recent documentary “This is Everything” which showed us her physical and emotional journey during major parts of her transition. But this book give us a more in-depth look into who Gigi is and what has made her into the LGBTQ+ icon she is today. It had me smiling, crying and laughing! Definitely a truly inspirational story❤️
