Publisher's summary

After witnessing a brutal murder, it is Jen Whitney’s positive identification that puts the man responsible behind bars. Though she knows he is in a maximum security prison, Jen cannot stop seeing him. He haunts her daily life. His terrifying vision appears on the sidewalk outside her window, in the stairwell just beyond her apartment door, even in the bathroom mirror as she prepares for bed. His consistently looming presence begins to tear at Jen’s already frayed anxieties, and she lashes out in ways she never thought she’d be capable. She is convinced that there is only one thing that will stop the hallucinations and bring her back to some semblance of reality: seeing the murderer where he rightfully belongs.

With the help of David Blanchard, a detective she quickly befriends, Jen sets off on a journey to face evil head-on. What she doesn’t know is that what awaits her beyond those prison walls will leave her forever changed.

He Wore a Leather Jacket is a novel of psychological terror with twists and turns. It explores the inner workings of a madman, as well as those affected by his actions. A story that will leave you glancing over your shoulder no matter the setting or time of day.

Amazing!

While going about her daily chores, Jen witnesses a horrific murder at the grocery store. Though the suspect is quickly apprehended, Jen swears that she sees him everywhere he goes. Is it possible the police have the wrong man in custody? Or is Jen facing a battle of her own?

I have read just about everything that Mr. Ford’s written, and I have to say that I have never found something I didn’t enjoy. That theme stays strong with He Wore a Leather Jacket. Like previous books, the characters feel so real. Jen and her brother, Bill, had a very interesting dynamic full of love, understanding, and deep down, a lot of pain.

I thought the way that Ford described Jen’s slow mental descent was so on-point. The gradual shift from a normal routine to one that was plagued with hallucinations and the overall fear of what she was becoming made it all so real. As someone who struggles with chemical imbalances, every bit of Jen’s actions were accurate.

Needless to say, the end of the book went in a direction I definitely didn’t see coming, and I’m still trying to pick my jaw up off the floor because that was spectacular. I think this may be one of Ford’s best works yet!

Narration was perfect!

Brilliant, Psychological Thriller!

After witnessing a horrific crime Jen is haunted by visions and lives in fear that the man responsible is bent on making her his next victim. Jen knows that he is behind bars, but when she starts seeing physical manifestations of him, she starts to lose it! He Wore a Leather Jacket is a brilliant psychological thriller with an extremely well written, well researched plot, featuring well developed, well drawn characters. I was stunned at how deeply and throughly the author delved into the psychological aspect of Jen’s condition. He really made me understand her, how she got where she was and how things were able to play out as they did. I know I am being vague, forgive me, but I don’t want to skirt too close to spoilers. The ending took me completely by surprise, but I have to confess, I love a great twist and this was an epically great twist! The narration that brought this thriller to life was wonderful! I enjoyed every aspect of this one and I definitely will be back for more! Five well earned stars! I wish I could give so many more!

dark and sick-- twisted

The ending made me furious and left me with a gutwrenching sick feeling. I believe in justice, so I wasn't pleased with the ending. I cried towards the end and kept on crying after finishing it. Most of my empathy was for David, because of the unfairness and it seemed to come out of the blue,, but was a well executed scheme. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a great job bringing it to life.

A different kind of scary

Jen Whitney suffers from manic bipolar disorder and one night while waiting in line at the grocery Store she spots a hot guy. She never expects him to randomly kill the cashier with the switchblade. After the incident she immediately sees him outside her window, and her bathroom and yet at the same time he’s already been locked up., But that doesn’t stop the siding. Not only that they are random violent accidents and near misses that always happen with Jen and although everyone from her brother to the investigator to her doctor try to help. Starting her own investigation just a lead her down a more spiraling path.. Jen seems to be her own worst enemy. I didn’t find her likable at all, which surprised me in a Brandon Ford book because usually his character is a very likable. Sometimes even the murderers or that easy to hate. Having said that it’s all made up to enter twine with this new kind of scary from Brandon Ford a psychological thriller that really keeps you listening until the very end. And what an ending it is! If this book doesn’t get you sitting up in bed or scooting to the edge of your seat you probably are not paying attention. It was so very good! I thought the narrator was awesome.
