About this listen

As a teenager, Gracie worshipped her stepbrother, Jason, a strong, silent young cowboy who left home early to seek his fortune. Though Gracie hadn't seen him in years, when her mother passed away, Jason ensured that Gracie would be cared for. Now the wealthy owner of Comanche Wells ranch, Jason has finally come back home, and discovered that the little girl he knew is all grown up.

When a moment of unbridled passion results in a kiss, Jason realizes that he's falling for Gracie. But Gracie harbors a shameful secret that makes her deeply afraid of love. Stung by her rejection, Jason leaves, ready to put the past - and the one woman he can't have - behind him once more.

Gracie thinks she's lost Jason forever. But when danger threatens her and the ranch, she can only hope that her long, tall Texan will come blazing home to save her, despite her secrets - and take control of Comanche Wells, and her heart, once and for all.

Not the best but better than some...

Another story in the Long Talk Texans series by Diana Palmer. This story of Jason Pendleton and Gracie Marsh, it is DP's usual storyline of a young damaged virgin and an older (and experienced) man. Kidnappings, a drug cartel, and Federal agents are all included. I did notice one GLARING error--the story's villain Fuentes was actually killed off off in the previous book, Fearless. The narrator does a good job with all the voices, but it seemed to me that his (Jason) laugh sounded like a heavy smoker.

HEARTLESS

I am a huge Diana Palmer fan and I just love her books. But I think the job she and Phil did on this book was just outstanding. Please keep up the great work, I especially love the unabridged versions of all the books. I am a very sick person who is no longer able to read books by myself and now am able to listen to them which is something I missed terrably. I am a boo lover and now have a way of still being able to keep up my love of books. Many thanks to you all, you have made it bearable while I am sick to be able to cope, the loss of my books was heartbreaking. Again from the bottom of my heart many thanks for a love returned whick I thought was lost for ever.

Great story, lots of twists!

The male voice is wonderful, the female is almost comical. But the story is really good. I'll read and listen to more Diana Palmer's books!

Great Western Adventure!

Any additional comments?

Phil Gigante was the narrator and he did an exceptional job telling the story. I couldn't stop listening. I didn't want the story to end.

Wonderful read full of many emotions and wonder!

I love the narrators voice and how he used it with each character. The flow of the story kept my interest for hours. The richness of the characters really made it flow. Thank you Diana Palmer and Phil Gigante for a great read.

Romance, Adventure, and Mystery

I always enjoy Diana Palmer's books and this was no exception. The love story between Gracie and Jason is a roller-coaster of adventure, betrayal, and mystery that occasionally suspends reality; but isn't that why we call it fiction?

Phil Gigante is a wonderful narrator.

Heartwaring love story, I could not put it down!!!

This one is very sweet and heartwarming. Gracie has known Jason since she was a young girl and loved him from a distance. Jason has loved Gracie also from a distance and now that they are adults they finally find the gift of love, once they overcome being step siblings (no blood relation). I was seriously wondering how the author was going to pull this story off without making it seem taboo. She established that very quickly and I could relax and enjoy the story. Jason is very sweet and helps Gracie overcome some dreadful things from her childhood. I loved the little twists in this story. Like most of the Diana Palmer books I have purchased in the past, the romance is Hot, Hot, and Hot and really flows with the story. In general I really do like the narrator (Phil G) and he does I great job with the majority of the voices. I just prefer him doing only male voices, but honestly his voice is not detract from the story at all. After about 15 to 20 minutes did not focus on him reading as a female and just thoroughly enjoyed this book. I love Diana Palmer books. I have listened to this one twice, maybe more.

Engaging characters and storyline

I loved the tangles of action and the development of characters.

Sometimes there were too many characters to keep up with… especially in an an Audio book.

The perseverance of love and the depiction of reality between the characters was depicted well.

The interjection of suspense kept the story real and the characters engaged well!

Recommend to readers. Narrator is excellent!
