About this listen

A brand-new hockey series from best-selling author R.C. Stephens.

Rebel

Notorious heartbreaker and handsome-as-sin hockey captain, Wolfe Judd is the golden boy on campus. He could have any girl he wants...and he wants me.

He sees beyond my surface. The way his stormy blue eyes watch me...I feel beautiful for the first time since my accident. Little by little, he tears down my walls, exposing a passion that leaves me breathless and a vulnerability that could leave me shattered.

But all my scars aren’t on the outside, and the ones inside whisper that a guy like him will never fall for a damaged girl like me. Turns out Wolfe is just as broken as I am. He might be a heartless player, but that won’t stop me from playing his game.

Wolfe

Rebel thinks she’s invisible, but I see her...even when she doesn’t want me to. Even when I wish I could get her out of my mind, because falling for her is a complication I can’t afford.

My reputation proceeds me, but Rebel is a game-changer. And if I get too close, I’m afraid she’ll see right through me. Behind the person who my family and teammates expect me to be, to the person who’s been keeping secrets.

With every scorching touch, every unapologetic kiss, the rules change, and the truth unravels around us. If only we could go on living this lie, then I wouldn’t risk losing the only girl I’ve ever loved.

Westfall U is a heartfelt college sports romance series with an HEA and no cliff-hanger. It's intended for mature listeners.

4/5

Okay so I saw the climax coming from a mile away and was praying a twist would’ve happened in Chapter 27 but once it didn’t I knew what was coming. I love how the author handled it either way. Cole is slow … I don’t think I’ll pay for his book (even though I like Holland) —Wolfe and Rebel made a beautiful couple but I hate that as always when it come to the females a mature conversation wasn’t had, but as always with the males in these stories, I love that Wolfe never backed down. I listened to the last few Chapters on x3 🙄 i hate the cliche Climaxes.

The broken, bad boy hockey player...

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 🌶🌶.75
Heat/Angst: 🔥🔥
Narrating: 🎧🎧🎧🎧

This is the first book that I've read and listened to by R.C. Stephen's. I really enjoyed this story and it had so much more room to grow and play with the plot.

Tropes:
🏒 College Hockey Romance (Captain)
🩵 Disabled Girl
🏒 Bad Boy/Good Girl
🩵 Hidden Identity
🏒 Reformed Playboy
🩵 Broken Boy
🏒 Possessive/Jealous MMC

This book had a different element in it when it comes to hockey romances I read. The FMC is disabled and missing part of her leg & foot, and she wears a prostatic. Rebel is such a strong young woman who has gone through a lot. She works hard and knows what she wants to be after college.

Rebel doesn't do well with attention because she has some issues with her disability and how people treat her because of it. She is a head down kind of girl. She is very beautiful, but doesn't date because she's self conscious.

Wolff comes into her work one night after a hockey game and notices his best friend/player asking questions about Rebel's leg and making her uncomfortable. After that it seems that Wolff sees Rebel everywhere when he's never see her before. Their paths keep crossing.

Wolff starts out talking to her at the coffee shop, then giving her rides to and from work develops a friendship between them. Wolff has never been friends with a girl. He has a reputation of being heartless to them. Use them for a good time then send them on their way. No attachments. Yet, he finds himself getting closer and closer to Rebel and ends up liking her.

Now, I enjoyed the aspect of Wolff's sister being like Rebel, only in a wheelchair. Wolff loves his sister, but had been blamed for her accident even though he was a child and it totally wasn't his fault. He had nothing to do with his parents. Rebel and Wolff actual share a lot on common in this book.

The narrators did a good job. I enjoyed Michael's voice. I've listened to a few books by him before and he does a good job. Kelli did good to, I just didn't enjoy her opposite s3x voice. It didn't sound right in my opinion. Neither did her parts when in passion like most narrators. The ahh's and moans and groans were just read not acted through... if that makes since.

Unique sports romance

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It was a feel good romance and I liked that I didn't have to hate characters for a long time before they had to majorly redeem themselves; I needed a break from those. Rebel was so kind and it was hard not to completely adore her character. She deserved all the things! Wolf ended up being pretty great as well and I found myself rooting for him about halfway through. I listened to the Audiobook and both narrator's were great and easy to listen to. Definitely recommend!

The bad boy with a heart of gold

This was the first audiobook I’ve listened to from this author, and I really enjoyed it. It definitely had a good love story with a little bit of sexy. It was nice to listen to a story with depth.
