About this listen

She never meant to sell her soul...least of all to Lucifer.

The devil has taken her sister. Now she's going to bring her back.

Luckily, she's not alone:

An angel with a dark past.

A wolf with anger issues.

A hellhound who's actually quite cuddly.

Yes, this is a journey into hell. Grab your tissues and snacks, for this will be a roller coaster into darkness.

A reverse harem based on Dante's Inferno, but with a kickass heroine instead of a lovesick old poet.

Hell's Calling

What would you do to save a loved one? Would you make a deal with the devil himself just to keep them safe? Now what would you do when the devil takes your loved one? Ciera must decide what she is willing to do to get her sister back. The very sister that she did everything to protect. Now she must fight to get her back from the Devil himself.

This story starts off a bit slow in the beginning but soon the story picks up and each character that you meet endears themselves to you. I love that Ciera is strong and determined but knows that she will and has made mistakes. She is human and sees the good in those that she meets on her journey, especially the three men that are now determined to help her save her sister. As she descends into Hell you may recognize a lot from mythology and the different circles of Hell from Dante amongst other things. I enjoyed the idea of the three men helping her and what each man is. The author does a good job of bringing the characters and world into vivid imagery. Each man has a great personality and I love each one and it was nice to see them begin to bond and find trust as they help Ciera. This is an engaging and most entertaining story that had me immersed in the story and eager to find out what comes next. Narrator Hiral Varsani keeps the narrative flowing at a nice pace and speaks clearly. I was not fond of some of the character voices used but that did not distract from the story.

Unique and Intriguing!

Hells Calling is the first in the Infernal Decent series by these two great authors. It’s a slow burn paranormal romance that follows Ciera down to hell on a journey to retrieve her sisters soul. She garners help from the most unlikeliest of people and reluctantly forms bonds with them as they travel the different circles of Hell. I really like Maro, Ceb and Plutus they are your typical bad boy characters, as this is a slow burn we don’t get to see much intimacy but it’s the story behind the men that leaves you wanting more. Ciera is courageous to want to find her sister but she is extremely naive and it’s this trait that has got everyone in this situation in the first place. She’s a bit of a whiner and puts on a facade to detract from her real feelings for the situation she’s in. I’d like to see how see grows during this journey.
I’m not sure how I feel about our narrator though given Cieras situation and background I would have thought Ciera would have had a rougher accent but she sounds quite snobbish for what I had in mind. Otherwise all in all great start to the series can’t wait for the next one.

surprisingly good

I tend to not care for and generally steer away from stories about angels and/or demons, just not my cup of tea. However, this story I actually liked and I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

Hell as you've never imagined!

Hell eternal is scary and this brave, desperate girl is on a infailable quest in impossible circumstances.
The narrator painted quite the impressionable images that are still whirling around my head a day later.
Brilliant start to the series. Recommended

I love this book!

Great narration and a good way to catch up before book 2 releases. I can't wait to see what happens as Ciera continues her journey through Hell. Normally I don't listen to audio books and this is the first one I truly listened to. I will be getting more in the future thats for sure. I felt like I was on the journey with Ciera, it was thoroughly entertaining. I can't wait for Hells Weeping!

Nice twist on a classic

This book was a bit of a surprise to me. It was so much better than I thought it was going to be. And that's shame on me because Skye MacKinnon always writes fantastic books. I loved Ciera. She stopped at nothing to save her sister. She literally goes to hell.. where she meets a few different types of guys. All with their own issues and quirks. I loved that Ciera didn't let the men walk all over her. She had a mission and she was sticking to it.

I am looking forward to see what happens with them next!

Dante’s inferno

I really like Ciera and want to see what she will do next. She made a deal out of desperation without truly understanding what she signed and now because of this the devil has her little sister and she will do whatever it takes to get her back, even if that means going down into hell. I’ve read Dante’s entire divine comedy a few times and liked the comparisons I was able to draw between this book and Dante’s Inferno. It was fun to get to see another author’s take on it and Ciera’s reactions compared to Dante’s. Ciera is a much more kickass character and she has some seriously interesting and sexy guides and protectors with her. This is a slow burn reverse harem PNR and I really want to know how it will turn out. Ciera has a lot of demons to face and things to over come if she ever hopes to get her sister back. Maro, Ceb, and Plututs are a lot of fun and each so different I really hope we get to see more of their pasts and learn how they became who they are now. I also want to see what’ll happen between then and Ciera as she descends further and further down into hell. How far would you go to save your sister? I look forward to seeing how far Ciera will go. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next books because this one was so much fun! And I loved the narrator!
