Publisher's summary

Madelaine Alexander is on a mission. When her boss sends her to the hottest nightclub in town to meet with the owner, she won't be deterred, even if that means standing in line for 58 minutes in torturous heels while she'd rather be home in her pj's with a bowl of popcorn.

A Knight of the Templar, Christien Chevalier was given immortality along with the responsibility of protecting the treasure of the Templars. He's been unwavering in his task for centuries, until his one true love - who died 700 years ago - shows up in his club, demanding his attention.

Christien couldn't protect Madelaine when they first fell in love. She was married to a lord and he was simply a knight. Now, through some unknown miracle, she stands before him again and they have a second chance. But Christien fears that Madelaine is being used as a pawn in a dangerous game, a game of good versus evil that could affect all of mankind....

Next To Perfect

The story was enthralling. The narrator was captivating. I longed for a happier ending, but guess by imagination will have to do this time. Overall it's a keeper that I'm sure I will revisit in the future.

A Little Too Long

Would you consider the audio edition of Her Dark Knight to be better than the print version?

I loved the story but sometimes I just wanted to skip all the self-doubt thoughts and get on with the story!

What did you like best about this story?

The historical periods and the juxtaposition with modern times.

What does Helen Stern bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I've heard better.

Well Done!!

I am hoping to get to hear more written by Sharon Cullen. Even though the theme of this book is fantasy, the author wrote it in such a way to keep ones interest throughout the book. The story line was believable. All about this book is well done including the narration.

Enjoyable Read

This book is a romantic fantasy done well. In the beginning I got a bit irritated with the author's redundancy pertaining to the hero's indecisiveness, and there was a twist at the ending I found a bit unnecessary, which is why I rated 4 stars rather than 5. These are little things, however, and should not put a reader off this book. The sex scenes are steamy, the action is intense, and the plot progresses quickly. The hero and heroine's characters are likeable.

This is an adult read, and I wouldn't recommend it for younger teens. Aside from the fact that it probably wouldn't interest them, the sex and some language is graphic.

The reader does a very good job with the material, keeping the action flowing seamlessly and doing accents effortlessly. Overall, very well done.

A Bit Disappointed

This was an enchanting story that was bogged down in the heroine's head. So much time was spent with her thoughts rather than action which made for a bit of a boring story. It delivered on the romance, heartbreak, and redemption, but was just too slow. The narration was just okay. I think if I'd been reading it in ebook, I may have done some skim reading.

Beautiful Story

This was a very enchanting story. Romance, heartbreak, tragedy, redemption, recompense, resurrection. It has it all. A well written and very well narrated audio. I will definitely look for more titles by this author and more works from this narrator.

Very good!

Great story.. Terrible narrator..

Any additional comments?

What a great story! I loved everything about it! Loved Christien and Madelaine. Great storyline and great sex. AND what a horrible twosome Lucheux and Giselle were. A really great ending, too.

As to the narrator: She was awful! I guess she thought that since gave Christien a french accent it would be alright if he sounded just like Madelaine. HE sounded sooo girly..
Also, if the book called for a whisper or laugh or a whimper, murmur, shout, whatever, it called for it wasn't there. So, between the H/h sounded alike and no emotion in her voice I can assure you I will not listen to this narrator again.

I Want More!

What made the experience of listening to Her Dark Knight the most enjoyable?

I really enjoyed the unique story line of this book! I wasn't sure when I got it if I would enjoy it or not but I had extra credits to use and nothing on my wishlist for a change. I am very glad that I took the chance.

What did you like best about this story?

The twists in the plot along with the ties to the past really made this story one to get into listening to for me.

What about Helen Stern???s performance did you like?

She was excellent! This was my first listen to her and I must say she is among the better readers. Even her male voices were believable! I even forgot that it was only a female reading the book if I didn't remind myself.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I was so upset when the book ended! Even more upset that it is a stand alone book. This would make an excellent series and I'd love to see it continue!

Any additional comments?

Well worth the listen!

Good Story, Not so good Narrator

How could the performance have been better?

Helen Stern's narration was great in English and French accents, Her American accent distracted me from the story
