About this listen

Theron - Dark haired, duty bound and deceptively deadly. He's the leader of the Argonauts, an elite group of guardians that defends the immortal realm from threats of the Underworld.

From the moment he walked into the club, Casey knew this guy was different. Men like that just didn't exist in real life - silky shoulder-length hair, chest impossibly broad, and a predatory manner that just screamed dark and dangerous. He was looking for something. Her. She was the one. She had the mark. Casey had to die so his kind could live, and it was Theron's duty to bring her in. But even as a 200-year-old descendent of Hercules, he wasn't strong enough to resist the pull in her fathomless eyes; to tear himself away from the heat of her body. As war with the Underworld nears, someone will have to make the ultimate sacrifice.

My ears may be bleeding!

While I would have preferred a series about any group of men, warriors, highlanders, SEALS, etc, to be narrated by a man, this one is done by a woman. Some can handle it, and she did not do too bad on men's voices, though as someone else pointed out, the only man that had an accent was the hero, Theron. All his brother Argonauts spoke regular unaccented English, which made no sense. I could live with that. Her regular narration voice was OK and sounded like a normal woman's voice. But her female characters sounded like 13 year olds - high pitched, often whiney. I had to force myself to finish but I was on a trip in my car and had to tough it out. If she would just have used her normal speaking voice for women, it would have been so much better. So I would ask her "When you speak to your friends, do you pitch your voice much higher and try to sound like a kid?" Think normal!

As for the story itself, I enjoyed it very much, though again, sometimes the dialog of the heroine, and her sister, was reminiscent of kids instead of 27 year old women. I'll get the rest of the books from the library and just read them maybe. I sure won't get the audio.

Fair Start, Dont Care for Narrator

A bit boring, but I stayed with it and it turned out fair. Second book is better.
Narrator? Well, there are better ones out there, but I was able to stand it.
Like I stated before, I went with the second book because I liked the back story and it's far better, narrator still not that great, but it'll do.
Enjoying the story

Unique story line, very well written narration --

This story is very unique for fantasy fiction. I enjoy a well written story and this listen did not disappoint. The narration was not the best and it was not a story I wanted to finish in one sitting. I would go back to it from time to time. This author will be one to watch... very talented. I believe this is worth a sale and if you like this sort of story minus the hot love scenes, a credit.

Theron The Divine Hot Argonaut Guardian Leader !!

Any additional comments?

Elisabeth Naughton have invented a true spunky Greek Gods and underlings Story. This book is full of excitement, lust, Demons, powerful Gods and Gorgeous Theron leader of the Argonaut Guardian's. Full of action and many additional characters this book has kept me entertained to the very end. So glad they released book 1 of the Eternal Guardians. I have had book 3 on my wish list for ages thinking i don't want to jump into the series with-out the very important first installment. Elizabeth Wiley done the Perfect Narration and her voice suited each character beautifully. It was intriguing to find out a bit about all the characters that will be included in the rest of this thrilling series. I hope book 2 is on it's way to us and will download it as soon as it is released. Totally YUMMY in every way :)

Once again an enjoyable book to listen while exercising. Didn't matter if you needed to listen to it in sections.

mythology

I have always enjoyed Roman mythology and I didn't realize that was intertwined in this book when I got it...so it made it all the better. It was a good book and enjoyed the narration.

It’s good but ending not my fav

Storyline summary
Starts out with half gods (I believe) who king is dying and the princess is deemed to marry a captain of an army of sorts. They do not like each other much. The princess runs away to the human realm to stare at a half breed.
The captain almost gets killed protecting the princess and turns out her likes a human.

The main characters were not bad. And the whole book had a good storyline to it. I found myself lost in the adventures happening. Some twist and turns keeping you on your toes.
But the ending was not my favorite. Mainly cause the main male character made some dumb choices. Like he’s reasoning was sound and really was just dumb.
Hard to explain without giving things away.

All together I do suggest this book. It’s one you should try. Not a real romance book I think but it has a good storyline. Steam was a 1 out of 5. Has its action, and adventures that will keep you guessing. They have your Greek gods playing a part in this one. Fun to see the different plays on them.
