My best friend’s brother is a god - Apollo

This was number 4 in the Mayhem in Mayfair series. The story is well written. We have met the main characters in the previous 3 books, especially Pol (shirt for Apollo). The characters from those prior times also play a role in this tale. I enjoyed how all the stories have come together. I am frustrated frustrated regarding Charity’s parents story. It didn’t seem to provide a thorough conclusion. Questioned seemed unanswered.

Erin Mallon did a fantastic job of narrating. Her voices were distinct and recognizable. The genders sounded correct. I loved pol’s voice.

I would recommend the series, but beware… many scenes are quite graphic in all 4 books. However, the stories are good so the intimate scenes don’t seem to be included for sensationalism.

Awesome book

This book has everything. It makes you laugh at times, and it makes you cry at times. I like how the main female character morphs from a timid woman into a warrior type. I honestly could not put this book down! Every time I tried to put it down, another interesting thing happened, so I couldn’t! I recommend this book to anyone that wants to read a great story!

The Best In The Series!

The story brings a great conclusion to the series and the H/H are not your typical characters. Neither one is Titled. They both have deep insecurities. Love and trust brings through in the end. It is a very different spin on the marriage of convenience premise with evil money lenders and all sorts of twists and turns. The Narrator does a MUCH better job in this edition as well. Overall a really enjoyable “read”.

Least fav of the series but ending redeemed the whole story

I was disappointed with this installment… I think if you’re reading the whole series it’s worth it to soldier on through the first part for the ending.

*** potential spoilers ***

The first 3/4 of the story I really didn’t like… the MFC annoyed the hell out of me and I felt so bad for Paul who was just trying to help and everything just kept getting worse and worse. The end conflict and redemption arch saved the whole thing from being a “don’t bother” to “you gotta read for the series resolution but I wouldn’t read as a stand alone” the romance felt a bit forced and abrupt… didn’t feel like there was enough build up between Paul not noticing her to all of a sudden he’s infatuated and doesn’t understand why… all in all the story was wine but I wouldn’t recommend unless you’re invested in the characters and overall series.

Horrible embarrassment of a novel

One of the worst stories I've read in a long time. Charity and Paul are both portrayed as idiots. Charity claims to be madly in love with Paul but cannot so much as attempt to try to put some faith in him or show him any respect whatsoever.

Paul grovels and begs forgiveness throughout while she stands around mutely letting him and his confidence be destroyed by her family, his family, her friends, etc.

Apparently everything is Paul's fault regardless of whether or not he did anything wrong. Charity, however, can be a complete bitch, disloyal, rude, and downright mean and yet still is not responsible for her actions.

No matter what she does to him, however, he continues to come back for more. Very unrealistic in every way.

What a disgusting woman. What an embarrassing excuse for a man.

Not my favorite of the series.

This was my least favorite of the series. I have been waiting since April 2014 for this audible release too.

I had a hard time with the heroine being a bit to wimpy. It would have been a better book had he heroine been a stronger and wittier. Sometimes I actually wanted the hero to just leave her!!

I just didn't feel the chemistry on the hero's side for her, it seemed sort of forced or fake. Also, Paul's character in the previous books was so much better, seemed the author made him a bit of a downer. Quite disappointing because I was really looking forward to his story.

There was of course lots of sex, didn't seem to have as much sex as the previous books though. But there was still quite a bit.

There was quite a bit of dialogue throughout, so there is that. (I like lots of dialogue)

Well, all in all the rest of the series was fantastic so I am still glad I listened\read the Mayhem in Mayfair series. Just a bummed this last books wasn't so good.

As for the narrator, she did a much better job in the previous books. Not sure what happened here but the men sounded to feminine in this book. She was just barely okay.

A Bit Graphic

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

It is an entertaining book. I thought the premise was good, the characters were developed well, the plot development was done well...

I think it's the language that threw me off. Honestly, I really enjoy sex in novels. If I'm involved enough with the novel, I can even dismiss occasional vulgarity, especially if I feel like it fits the character or the scene. I don't expect all vaginas to be a woman's "core" and all penises to be a man's "shaft." I mean, it's okay to call it what it is or to use less pretty language to describe a hot moment (sex can be pretty feral, right?). It's realistic. However, there was so much... strong.. language and it felt so out of place that I couldn't really get lost in the story. I kept getting jolted back to reality every time there was a sexual thought or act.

So, yes, I feel like it's well spent as long as you're not easily distracted by vulgar language. You can return anything for any reason as an Audible member, so I'd definitely say it's worth giving it a try.

Would you recommend Her Prodigal Passion to your friends? Why or why not?

It depends on who I'd be recommending it to.

Have you listened to any of Erin Mallon’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, this is the first time. I really liked her narration.
