About this listen

‘How did such big balls get in such short pants?’ - Aerosmith’s Steve Tyler on Angus, at the induction of AC/DC into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Angus Young, the co-founder and last remaining original member of AC/DC, has for more than 40 years been the face, sound and sometimes the exposed backside of the trailblazing rock band. In his trademark schoolboy outfit, Angus rose from the obscurity of working-class Glasgow and Sydney to become hard rock’s greatest guitarist. High Voltage is the first biography to focus exclusively on Angus, and reveals in stunning detail how his signature guitar sound, his unique flair for performance and his unstoppable drive to succeed have kept AC/DC on the rails and at the top of the rock pile.©2018 Jeff Apter (P)2018 Bolinda Publishing Entertainment & Celebrities Music Celebrity Guitar

I LOVE AC/DC

If I rate the performance 4 star and the story 4 star, why is the overall rating 5 stars? Because I love AC/DC, up to the Fly on the wall album. I was so disappointed with that album that I quit buying their stuff. I learned a dozen of Angus's guitar solos note for note and could sing every lyric in all the albums up to "For those about to Rock". But growing up preinternet, I didn't have access to know about the bands I listened to without paying money I didn't have for magazines. I LOVED hearing the full story of AC/DC, though I knew much of their story, this audio was filled with stories and background I didn't know about. many times I stopped the audio and went to YouTube to check out videos of the band members. I LOVED this audio and was excited to get back to it. Special thanks to jeff Apter who did the research and wrote the book. Thank you Jeff. I may even listen to this audio book again!

This author hates Brian

Cool story. I couldn’t help but notice this author’s disdain for Brian Johnson. He gives him zero credit for anything. Aside from that, the book was good.

Good story of a rock guitar icon.

The author worships at the alter of Bon Scott, but apparently isn't a fan of Brian Johnson.

Any AC/DC fan will totally dig this!

If you're into AC/DC or an Angus Young devotee (two things that likely go hand), this biography provides a great historical overview.

it's clearly well researched, superbly written, and entertaining.

definitely worth checking out.

compelling story but ends to quickly

it is a long book but given the length of career , it should have been longer. Too many topics covered too quickly. The 21st century part covered in what felt like minutes. Aussie accent of reader adds to story
