She'd saved his son.
Could she save him as well?

Laird Gavin MacKinnon is a changed man - and not for the better. Ever since his young son, Ewan, disappeared two years ago, Gavin has grown callous and bitter. Scouring the countryside, his search leads him to a mysterious woman who maintains the boy is hers. He decides to take them both and ask questions later.

Deirdre MacIntyre will go with the brooding laird if it will keep her son safe. Gavin has to admit that the beautiful lass has a bond with Ewan, and things aren't adding up. When Deirdre's clan comes to claim her under threat of war, Gavin has a choice to make: fight for her or let her go.

Gavin's Story, Yeah! 4.5 stars

I purchased this book outright because I didn't want to wait until it got on the Audible Escape list. The whole series is very good and the storyline really varies from one to the next. I was looking forward to Gavin's story and it did not disappoint. I would have given this book 5 stars, however, towards the end it kind of went flat and the story wasn't really clear. Even with that, I hope there is a book 5. Rosalyn Landor is great as always.

💜 Another win for the series!

I really just love this series so much. No book will ever be as great as the first one, when we fell in love with the series, but these really are still so enjoyable. (Another series I loved, actually two. The Tea Rose and Ruthless. Great series!).
In this one, I really appreciated how the infidelity issue was handled. It could have gone so many ways, but it was handled great and I loved the way it played out, and I definitely didn’t predict even close to the actuality.
Kerr was a fabulous secondary character as his story is next, and all the previous characters did come back in the story for a bit. Well, the male ones. Lol
The only complaint I would have is that the ending just kind of swooped up and happened with little substance to it. There was very little sex in the book, I think only one scene.
Rosalyn Landor did a great job. She does seem to make the female characters a little whiny and childlike in this series but it’s not a deal breaker. Just a little annoying.
I paid $4.20 for this book and it was absolutely 100% well worth it.

Great story!

Not all of it, but most of this story was different than other books, which also made it better! I liked the fact of the heart's battle over the son -young stolen boy of 4 years old. I also thought it was a good plot point to make the last hour off the story a rough battle for killing of the Lairds and ploys of just a very few good people against hordes of the evil, invading clan. It's good too ( for the next story or two) that the master mind of this evil plot , got away at the end without anyone left to identify him, as now their is an antagonist got the next story or two!
I love Rosalyn Landor's versatile voice! She's so good!

Great read!

I loved this book for so many reasons - the romance, the struggles of joy and pain. This author writes like Julie Garwood. Beautiful, fun and exciting book. Excellent narration.

ok

Probably liked this one the least of the series. Rosalyn Landor was perfect as always but the story was a bit frustrating. ** SPOILER ** Found it a bit odd that ALL the brothers went hunting when they knew their was a possible attack pending. Really? You don't leave a couple of the brothers to ensure the H/H safety? This book seemed more of a filler between stories than it's own story. But I recommend as a continuation of the series.

my favorite so far

this book is my favorite so far. the first book made me laugh so hard, this one brought me to tears. I could feel Deidra's pain when she thought she had to give up her child. I felt her emotions when she just wanted to scream over being overlooked and used all her life. I felt Gavin's pain for being so torn over wanting to have the love and affection of his son and losing those precious years with him when he was taken from him. love scenes are the best yet. hope the last book is just as good.
