About this listen

Agnes' hard life from a young age leaves her feeling scorned and unloved. As she works long hours in the castle's kitchens, she is shunned by the other servants.

While Agnes accepts her lot in life, she is surprised when she encounters the Laird of Edinburgh, William. Although he is kind to her, Agnes knows he is only being polite. But William's heart flutters whenever he sees her.

But there is someone in the castle of Clan Anderson who does not want William to be around Agnes, and they will do whatever it takes to remove her from William's life. Too late, William realizes the deadly secrets of the castle and mourns the loss of Agnes deeply.

Feel good historical highland romance

Short but sweet. The love story between Agnes, the orphaned kitchen maid, and William, the Laird of the castle, is a stand alone with an HEA despite the dangers of such an alliance.

Andrew McDermott's excellent narration adds authenticity to this feel good escapist romance.

A well-written story from a very good author

Highland Deadly Secrets, my third read from historical romance author Blair Keith. My wife is a Scottish romance reader & sometimes books she reads influence me. I don't restrict myself to a particular genre. I'm a sucker for anything with memorable characters and a story that keeps me guessing. The perfect novel? A book that keeps me turning the page long after I should have called it a night. This was a well-written book, I'll definitely read more from this author, in fact after reading this I went out & purchased 3 Blair Keith collections totaling 28 books. I was given an Audible copy of this book and am voluntarily reviewing it. Andrew McDermott' excellent narration adds to the enjoyment of the book. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Loved this story and narration!

Andrew McDermott brought this book to life perfectly! I loved Agnes so much. Not all is what it seemed. And whether you are a servant or a person of nobility. Everyone deserves respect and kindness. Beautiful story and wonderous narration!
