Publisher's summary

A quest for happiness.

Resigned to a lonely life after a fierce betrayal of the man who broke her spirit, Meg Alpin retreats to her family’s castle. In her pursuit to move on with her life, she uncovers long-buried secrets and discovers something magical amidst the furniture in the tower.

In one instant, her dull world is given bright new meaning in the form of a highlander too magnificent, too handsome to be real.

A desire for freedom.

Cursed and caged in a mirror by a gypsy, Ronan Galt’s existence is complete darkness and unquenchable need. When he’s brought back into the light, his distrust of women is at odds with his instant attraction to the beautiful and strong Meg.

In his quest to be free of his prison, he will learn the true meaning of love, but will it be too late to claim the woman that was destined to be his?

Sweet but Short

Sweet story albeit really short but it was Paul Metcalfe's and Jan Nicholll's dual narration that really brought the story to life. I was disappointed to see that they are not narrating the next books in the series. I can only hope that the next narrators will be just as good.

Wonderful story

Donna knows how to tell a story. This one in particular I did not want to end. I thought the highlander was part of another series so I accidentally read it. I am not sorry I did and will read the other highlander books. I am sure I will own all the rest of this author's books eventually. She has the reader rooting for the characters to find a way out of the prisons they put themselves in.

Good short story

Ronan is trapped in a mirror for 200 years. Meg finds the mirror and by some magic, Ronan is released. I like the narrators and the Scottish accents. I'm looking forward to the next book.

Overly sexy, Poorly written and Narrated...🤢

The narrator has no emotion in his tone as he reads and it's the same lilt at the end of every sentence, like he's constantly trying to seduce. The female Narrator has the same issues as well as using the same "Romanian" accent for "Meg" who is declared having a "Scottish burr". I couldnt keep listening. It was just pure smut. Over and over with no real story, no build up, no bonding with the main characters. This book is the equivalent of a lemon fanfic. Not worth the listen u less you're in the "Mood". lol
