Publisher's summary

Eric Murray, the youngest of his brothers, is determined to gain his rightful inheritance after 13 years of bitter dispute with his father's family. Starting out alone to confront his tight-fisted kinsmen, he encounters a chestnut-haired beauty set upon by thieves. When she begs for Eric's protection for herself and her infant nephew, Eric promises to deliver them to the safety of her family.

Bethia Drummond has tried desperately to ignore her attraction to the azure-eyed stranger. Still, Eric Murray is Bethia's only hope of escaping her ruthless kin, who plan to kill her and her orphaned nephew and claim their inherited land. Then Bethia learns that Eric, too, is seeking land and coin from his own kin - her family's closest allies. How could she love a man she might one day be forced to stand against? And yet she cannot ignore what her troubled heart knows - that this proud knight is her very destiny.

Love the characters in all the books I’ve had so far and I’m looking forward to complete the series.

Keeps up it's promise!

This is a good one! I love that Eric sees to the heart of Bethia and helps her to see the truth as well. They both help each other along and this becomes a great love story (of course) They are young and you can tell from their issues, and their emotions, but they are a fiery pair!

Worth the credit. I'm not sure if I will continue the series or not, I see good things about the future books and I understand the series (18 books long) spans 4 generations but it looks like the Murrays will be seen in some ways in a negative light, which I hate to see the people I put onto a pedestal that way, but I will probably give in and find I love them.

Highland Promise

In this story you learn about Eric and his adventures at getting his family lands from an uncle who took it from him when he was a child. Bethia is running from a man who wants her nephew dead. When he takes on a vow to protect her and the child he did not know that it would end in marriage. But he is enthralled with her. And her ability to turn a blind eye of her parents hate of her. Will they ever figure that the feelings are more than passion. Cant wait to read more of those in this series. The narrating kept me interested till the end.

Intended to Saved His Bonnie Hide

Audible Escape
Is a great way to listen to an expensive series such as this one. If you love a book so much, you can always buy it
I did not read in order, my biggest mistake, but my fave books 5,6,10, made me go back and start again with book 2 & 3 which really set the stage for this series. But book 1 was not may favorite as author did not get into the swing of the humor and wit until book 2. By #5 the wit and humor are not to be missed by doing mundane chores that you miss it. I do use 1.25x speed to match the adventure.
Author knows how to make the characters Bonnie and brave and determined. Ms Dawe is my top fave narrator and this series sets the stage for her great accents, her Scotts brogue is the best in the business. Her French accent makes you feel she was schooled in France. She has the author’s rhythm and you are right there on horseback racing through the forest.
This is a series worth owning and re listening to when you get the urge to go back to the Highlands.
Were my comments of help?

The mispronounced names drive me insane!

I’m enjoying the series. However, from the very first chapter I noticed the mispronounced name “Sorcha”. It’s an old Gaelic name pronounced Serrica. They should definitely do more research on proper pronunciation of certain words and names especially in historical fiction from different countries. I actually have a niece named Sorcha.

More research please before approving these performances. Idk if the writer just looked up names and has no clue or nobody cared about proper narration. Either way. I’m on chapter 3. And don’t know if I can make it through
