About this listen

When Darkness Falls...

Cathal MacNachton and Connall MacAdie are cousins bound by far more than blood ties and the rugged Highland landscape their clan calls home. The ancient curse of their ancestry has fated them to live by night with an unquenchable thirst that neither can tame. The only thing that can save their souls is marriage to Outsiders - mortals whose untainted blood will weaken the curse in their children and break the chains of fear that have made their clan a breed apart.

Bridget Callan and Eva Caxton are the women who will shape the clan's destiny. Marriage to these strange and mysterious men will rescue each of them from desperate circumstances - and draw them into a web of danger, desire, and intrigue....

Liked this book a lot. It puts a new twist on vampires. Now don’t know if they’re considered to be evil.

These two stories approached the problem of a Highland Lord needing a wife, but they went about it in very different ways. Both stories are fun and easy to listen to.

Twice the fun

I only listened to the first story so far and I really enjoyed it. This book was a little different than the others I listen to. There was much less back story and some of the “moments” were less detailed and descriptive, but I actually liked how simple it was. It was a sweet romantic story with just the right amount of conflict for me. I definitely recommend it.

Sweet story - fun to listen to.

I listened to this, when it was included in Prime. It’s fun to have paranormal stories set in historical times with some steamy action mixed in. They were both good stories with awesome characters. I liked the first one better than the second, but as they were both short, they made for some easy listening. The narrator seemed to mess up some words here and there. If you were stickler for grammar, you will catch these inaccuracies. Honestly, it could’ve been how the books were written, but I’m assuming it was the narrator. It’s also not always easy to distinguish who’s talking when there are more than one male character speaking at a time. Ruth is a good narrator, she’s just not one of my favorites.

Two good stories

This would build if continued these characters in additional books. Enjoyed even if very brief. Some like brief in their busy life.

Need to continue
