Publisher's summary

The third novel in Amanda Scott’s best-selling Highland series introduces an unforgettable Scottish beauty caught between two men vying for her hand.

Most Highlanders fear Black Duncan Campbell. Mary Maclaine isn’t intimidated, but she blames him for the death of his brother Ian, her first love. When Ewan, Lord MacCrichton tries to strong-arm Mary into marriage, he unknowingly forces Mary to seek aid from the man she vowed to hate forever.

The only way Duncan can convince Mary of his innocence is to find his brother’s real killers. But now she faces grave danger . . . unless Duncan can stop MacCrichton from exploiting her gift of Second Sight for his own avaricious ends. Resisting the desire that Mary arouses poses an even greater risk to Duncan. To win her trust, he has to show her that the most priceless treasure of all is the love they can find only in each other’s arms.

Highland treasure

This is one of the best books I heard for Amanda Scott. The characters are very well developed and fit to there time period. The narrator did a great job.

Great Book

This book is the 3rd installment of the Highland series, and it is so much better than the last book. I almost skipped this book and thought about not finishing the series since the last book wasn't that great, but I am glad I did not.

It was interesting to see how Black Duncan's character changed from the villain from the last book, to the hero of this one. It was a difficult transition at times, but it was well done and flowed naturally. The romance was well developed and so were the villains and the rest of the plot. I am glad I did not give up on the series.

Not my fav.

Buried treasure and Jordie marked the spot!? This one was not one of my favorites, not even close. Irritating narration.

Opposites Attract....Highlander Style.

When I read the publisher's summary for this book I was a little apprehensive about a love story between Black Duncan and Mary because of Duncan's reputation in the previous books. But I have to say that the author did a great job developing their relationship and allowing it to grow gradually. Both Duncan and Mary are strong characters who challenge each other both personally and socially with determination and light humor.

The minor characters are all written with vivid dimension. Duncan's parents, the children, Serena, as well as Ewan MacCrichton and Allan Breck are all memorable and distinct. As expected, some I loved and some I hated.

This story is adventurous, romantic and worth a credit.....especially if you can get it on sale.

This was a great book

I will read this book again. I couldn't put it down. The books description seemed to be for another book, I don't know who the heck Molly was but that's ok because the book was great. It tied in nicely to the previous book and I liked t his book even better. It not only had a very capable heroine it also had a young boy and girl that were very gutsy. the adventure never stopped and the narrator did a good job.

Love this series

This was a fine installment in this series. I listened to it too close to the last one I think, so it was a little silly. I like to put some time between stories so I don’t compare them. Overall I enjoyed this and look forward to the next. I’m disappointed that it will be the final story for this series.
