Publisher's summary

NFL football player Isaiah Blackwell lost his husband three years ago and is raising their teen son alone. He lives his life as quietly as his job allows, playing ball to support his family but trying not to draw unwanted attention. His quiet life is shaken up when a mutual friend introduces him to Victor, a visiting principal ballet dancer who is everything Isaiah is not.

Brash and loud, Victor Aleksandrov has applied for political asylum to avoid returning to Russia, where gay men are targeted and persecuted. He's been outspoken about gay rights in his home country, and if he doesn't get asylum, going back to Russia is a death sentence.

Their one-night stand turns into a tentative friendship, a relationship they both agree is temporary . . . until Victor's denied asylum. Isaiah can't offer Victor a happily ever after, but he can propose something that'll keep Victor in the US and safe . . . marriage. He just doesn't expect his new husband to dance away with his heart.

Contains mature themes.

Good

This was a short quick audio book that I listened to. Isaiah Blackwell has been morning the death of his husband for 3 years. When he takes his son Evan to see a ballet dancer Victor preform he can't believe how hot Victor is. These two hook up turns out Victor has been speaking out about how is home country of Russia treats gay people and he can't go home and when he is denied asylum Isaiah suggest that they get married and they do only he can't let go of his late husband because he doesn't want to get hurt again. I liked listening to this book but it was fast I wanted more out of the story I wanted Isaiah to explain to Victor why he was treating him the way he did. I loved his son Evan he was a 14 year old artistic teen who wore dresses and makeup who was being true to himself and I liked when Isaiah talked after he got into the fight. I loved the narrator. I am looking forward to reading or listening to more from this author.
