About this listen

Since the night Atlanta mayor, self-made millionaire, and womanizer Jamison Jackson plummeted from the top floor of a downtown hotel, everyone seems to have profited, from vicious criminals to corrupt politicians. Everyone except his jilted first wife Kerry. Once a socialite, she's now the prime suspect in Jamison's alleged murder. But she swears she's no killer - and surprisingly, Jamison's widow Val agrees. For all they know, it was Coreen, the mother of Jamison's secret love child. After years of extortion, Coreen's cash flow has come to an end. The reality is, Jamison had a murky past and a legion of enemies old and new who will do whatever it takes to cover up the truth - and it's even more scandalous, unexpected, and filled with secrets than anyone suspects...

Not what I expected

This book was to long to have it end the way it did. The narrators voice made me think that the book would get better but it never did. Lol. great job by Simi Howe!

Going Back to Read the f Two

Great story telling with very interesting characters. The characteristics were realistic and showed what women will do for what they love (children, man, money, status). After reading this, I realized this was the last of a 3 book series. I will definitely pick you the other two for my summer reading list.

Great

I really liked this book and would recommend it. It had a great storyline and I wish that it was a movie or TV show.

I'm glad Val found true love and I hated that Jameson was dead and Carrie didn't find her love.

It was crazy that the group lied to her for their on movement and to the people that believed them. I thought they wasn't going to let them leave. I thought that Bobesset took the jet, so they couldn't leave.

I don't know what will happen to Carrie and her son if they go back to that group and she finds out that something sexual and under handed is happening. Hopefully she want go back there, but just stay to have some new memories made with her son at the beach that reminds him of his father.

I hope Val find out her mother did all that to her and not Ms. Taylor. I also wish the info. Leaf was wanting to tell them gets out. We really need another book for closure on this series.

Not for me

Simi Howe the narrator is why I picked this book, for she is one of my favorite narrators, but not even Simi could not keep my attention with this book. The book hours could have been shorter as a result of how it ended. Really, after all that running around the characters did through the book & it ends on a flat note of disappointment, where even the characters were disappointed.
Now for what I liked about the book; I was impressed with the relationship between the ex wife & the present wife. Their friendly relationship regardless how it started seemed genuine.

still waiting

I am still waiting for this story to materialize. The book was all over the place and hard to keep up with. The whole story line was unbelievable and I kept reading to see when it would unfold. I read it to the end and I'm still lost. I did not enjoy this book.

Snoozefest

The book started with promise, and went on some twists and turns to nowhere. Simi Howe's lovely voice saved this book. That's pretty much it. It had promise in the beginning, but there is no real climax. It runs on, and on into boredom. The only reason I finished it was because I was traveling a long roadtrip, and needed something playing in my ear..
