About this listen

Press, tap, refresh....

When Autumn Carpenter stumbles upon the social media account of the family who adopted her infant daughter years ago, she finds herself instantly drawn into their picture-perfect existence.

From behind a computer screen, Autumn watches Grace's every memory, from birthdays to holidays to bedtime snuggles. But what starts as an innocent fascination soon spirals into an addictive obsession that comes to a screeching halt the day the McMullen family closes their Instaface account without so much as a warning.

Frantic and desperate to reconnect with her daughter, Autumn applies for a nanny position with the McMullens, manipulating herself into Grace's life under false pretenses. And it's only then that Autumn discovers pictures lie, the perfect family doesn't exist, and beautiful people? They have the ugliest secrets.

I love it! Didn't see the end coming!

If you could sum up The Memory Watcher in three words, what would they be?

Blew my mind!

Any additional comments?

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Peeking inside the minds of the two main characters made them both seem very real. It brings into perspective that you don't ever really know someone just from the outside appearance or even their actions. The story developed smoothly and kept me wanting to listen. I thought the first main twist was amazing, then there was another and the final twist at the end - wow! I had to smile and say to the author - you got me! I never would have guessed. Great book!! Buy it - you won't be disappointed!

Lifetime movie / just ok

I couldn't help thinking the whole time I listened that this would be a good lifetime movie. It was a decent read but I don't think in a few months I will remember this book. Nothing really stood out to me. My rating really is a 3.5 (for the surprise ending). Wish then allowed for half stars.

Disappointed.

It was entertaining until the end when it felt like it abruptly ended out of no where with the entire summary wrapped up into one page...The end fell short and did not do justice to the rest of the story. The sudden end ruined the entire book for me. pointless.

Just ok

Not sure it is worth a credit but a good deal if it is on sale for only a few bucks. Story was interesting but not overly so. Characters were well played and the reader was very good. Still...only if it is on sale. Save your credits.

great book!

It's kinda like a weird blend of the movies "enough" and "Mrs doubtfire" with a hint of law and order

kept me guessing

THIS was narrated well with each character very distinctive. The ending was a surprise. Great!

Hm, that ending though

Oh my. Ms Kent does an amazing job creating multi-faceted characters. And some of them are just nutters. LOL. Hoo boy howdy... Autumn is remarkably idiotic and misguided with no idea how the world actually works. And don't get me started on how she jumps to conclusions about what she sees on social media 🙄 Daphne breaks my heart and the compromises she makes is saddening. Hm... that ending though... is it a cop out to use mental illness to wrap up a story?

It is hard to find any characters to like in this story

The characters develop and change and grow but only from someone that I didn’t care about to someone else I didn’t care about. Ultimately it is a pointless story about unlikeable people.
