Publisher's summary

Ashling O’Rourke has always seen love through the prism of her vintage romance novel collection. The dukes, the duchesses, and the corsets and carriages help her to experience different kinds of love. She’s content living a sheltered life in a small village and even gets a job working for the Rosebrook Village Trust. Ash’s newly exciting life is only marred by the arrogant Archie, who thinks she’s the office tea girl.

Steff “Archie” Archer is a Townie who never likes to be more than a mile away from a coffee, sushi, or juice bar. Despite being an avid environmentalist and working for Rosebrook Village Trust, she never wants to live there. She’s lived the country life before and vowed never to return.

When unsentimental Archie falls for the hopeless romantic Ashling, Archie needs to learn how to make her sweetheart swoon. But will she be able to settle in the village, and make her home where her heart is?

Another hit!

As always, Jenny Frame does an amazing job creating characters that you connect with and care about. I really liked Ash and Archie and how they complemented each other (something else that Jenny Frame does a great job doing). I don't tend to enjoy age-gap romance but this one really pulled me in. I look forward to reading/listening to many books in this series. I also enjoyed the narration! Highly recommend!

I'm Back, No K. Grace!

Can't say how great it is to be able to buy and enjoy a Jenny Frame audio book again, since Kierra Grace's narration isn't ruining it and making it unbuyable! I hope this marks the end of K. Grace narrating any more of J. Frame's books and I hope the other authors at BSB follow suit so I can start buying their audible books again, also. All the book series she has ruined is heartbreaking. I would give this book 5 stars for Grace's departure alone, but this book and Amy Putt earned it on their own. Gun Brooke puts out so few of her awesome books in audio and I was so excited to see her recently put out a new one and I went straight to buy it until I saw Kierra Grace was the narrator, screech, full stop, deal breaker, I did not buy, I refuse, she ruins even the US/Canadian accent books and her English/Scottish accented books are an abomination. My BSB fandom has mightily diminished for all the complaints I have seen about K. Grace and their continued use of her anyway. So a big, BIG thank you, thank God for no K. Grace and I pray there is no more!

The City Girl and the Country Girl

Ashling O’Rourke is PA to Duchess Clementine and Archie Archer is Deputy to Evan Fox. Archie and Ash conflict in their roles when Clem and Evan go on their honeymoon. A great performance and story.

I was blown away by the narrators voice acting

the story was sweet , comforting and sexy. a true modern fairy tale. and the narrator was absolutly amazing. bringing so much diversity and vulnerability to the characters. kudos.

Amy Putt for the win!

I was so happy to see the narrator for this novel was the fabulous and talented (and British) Amy Putt. I dearly love Nicola Victoria Vincent, and I’m still not sure why she hasn’t narrated Jenny Frames’ most recent audiobooks, but if we fans must adjust to new narrators at least on this occasion it’s someone as wonderful as Amy Putt. She is a very committed and lively voice actor who acts out the dialogue and reliably differentiates character voices. Listening to her is a true pleasure. I hope she’ll be narrating more of Jenny’s books in the future. They really are best read in a British accent.

As for the story, it was good. A little bit shorter than some of Frames’ other works, but a sweet and engaging love story. The characters are solid, and the fact that they’re working to get an eco-and-LGBTQ+ friendly community off the ground lends a sense of idyllic purpose to the whole thing. All in all, a welcome and enjoyable listening experience.

Just my two cents below ..

Read the book last week and was looking forward to the audio, hoping Keira Grace would be used for the narration. Even though that didn’t occur, I’m pleased to report I was not let down by Ms. Putt performance. Another great addition to Ms Frames fantastic body of work.

Takes time to get into the story

When I started listening to this book I didn’t like it much, but around chapter 5 i started to get into the story and like the MC.
Narration was OK nothing to write home about.
