About this listen

She wants forgiveness, he wants to protect his wife.

After years of hiding who and what she is, Constance Michaels must now face the bitter truth of her wrenched past and the knowledge one of her children wants nothing to do with her. She understands her daughter’s feelings. Thirteen years was a long time to be absent to just expect to walk back into a person’s life and pick up where she left off. There were mountains to climb and bridges to mend before she could possibly hope for forgiveness for the part she played.

Beg Wilson has worked hard to put together the broken pieces of his wife’s heart. The last thing he needs is Constance thinking she could come back into her daughter’s life and undo everything he’d worked so hard to achieve. He’s conflicted as to what would be best for all of them. He knew what it was like not to have a mother. How could he possibly deny his wife the chance to have her, regardless of the outcome?

Is it possible for Beg to use the spirit of Christmas to mend old wounds, build bridges, close the gap of time, and bring a mother and daughter together?

Sweet Historical

The first few chapters were difficult to get through because there was so much background information necessary, but Constance remembering the past and then being in her present added additional difficulty in my opinion. I actually listened to the first 4 chapters twice.
I like the narrator's character voices, but his narrative parts were pretty boring. Like a monotone science teacher. He has such a deep voice I didn't think I'd like his female voices, but I loved them.
Once I got into the story, it was quite creative. I don't understand the daughter's husband's job though. He sounds almost like a hit man. There were many laugh out loud parts, especially in the end.

Sweet and Heartwarming!

This was a very sweet and heartwarming story of love, sacrifice and forgiveness. Constance Michaels receives a letter from her daughter Rachel informing her of the death of her other daughter. Unfortunately, Constance had to leave her daughters thirteen years ago to protect them and now Rachel wants nothing to do with her mother. Constance also has two sons who know nothing of her previous life. There are many decisions to be made, not only for Constance but also for Beg Wilson, Rachel’s husband. He would like to see his wife reunited with her mother however does not want to see her hurt. The author does a wonderful job of bringing it all together in the end. C. J. McAllister does an exceptional job with the narration, bringing the characters to life and making the listening experience enjoyable. This book was given to me for free and I provided this voluntary review.

Can She Pick Up Where She Left?

The book centers around the female lead, Constance.

This was a well developed story line that focuses on Constance, her

struggles, and what she had to do to survive.

Overall, an engaging read about Loss, Hope, Redemtopin, and Forgiveness.

C.J. McAllister did well with the narration as well.

Hope Eternal

A wonderful continuation of Rachel and Beg’s story.

Rachel’s mother would like to reconnect with her, but 13 years may just be to long to have been away. Now we get to hear the story of why Rachel’s mother left all those years ago and find out if forgiveness and understanding is possible.

Interesting Presentation on Decision Making

"I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request, via Audiobook Boom, and have voluntarily left this review."
I loved the way the author presented one of the ugly sides of domestic life. I also love that Beg was so concerned about his wife that he wanted her to reunite with her mother but also did not want her hurt. I loved the narrator. The story was brought to life via the different voices and emotions that he evoked. Loved the story.

A Mother's Decision

I received a free copy of this audiobook from Audiobooks Unleashed in exchange for an honest review.
Constance Michaels makes an impossible decision to change her life and the lives of her daughters. Her plans change their lives forever but she gains a new family in the process. Although her life struggles are unbelievable it ends up in a relatively happy ending. The narrator was really good and brought a lot to this short story.

Forgiveness and Healing

I have enjoyed each of Sandra Sinclair's books in this series. In this book we meet Constance who abandoned her two daughters 13 years ago. Now she has learned that her oldest daughter has died and Rachel, her youngest daughter is living nearby with her new husband. We learn more of what happened in the past that led Constance to leave her family and we find that she did the right thing for her family and for herself. Now she wants to make amends. Except Rachel feels like her mother has abandoned her and wants nothing to do with her.
A truly sweet and enjoyable book that reminds you of the importance of family and forgiveness made all the more enjoyable by the excellent narration by C.J. McAllister.

Another great addition to the series

I liked getting to see Beg and Rachel again, this story helped to close the loop on Rachel's life. Some parts of it are difficult to listen to because it deals with domestic violence but overall the story was one of hope and reunion.

I felt that getting Constance's side of the story was important and I enjoyed getting to see events from another point of view.

It was lovely to listen to the narration which is very well done, the character voices are distinct and recognizable from earlier books.

I received a free copy of this book from the author and/or narrator and/or publisher and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.
