About this listen

Let me tell you all I know for sure. My name. Shauna.

I woke up in a hospital bed missing six months of my memory. In the room was my loving boyfriend - how could I have forgotten him? - my uncle and my abusive stepmother. Everyone blames me for the tragic car accident that left me near death and my dear brother brain damaged. But what they say can't be true - can it?

I believe the medicine is doing strange things to my memory. I'm unsure who I can trust and who I should run from. And I'm starting to remember things I've never known. Things not about me. I think I'm going crazy.

And even worse, I think they want to kill me.

But who? And for what? Is dying for the truth really better than living with a lie?

Great story, written by a great author, delivered by an AWESOME narrator! I look forward to more stories by this author and narrator.

Narration by Pam Turlow is OUTSTANDING!

I remember loving this book when I read it and I thought it would be a great listen on during my commute. I still really enjoyed the story but it was the performance that got me. I found the main characters voice to be whiny and only some of the male voices were tolerable. The voice acting really took me out of the story.

Great story, not great performance

Narrator voice for main character was awful. She made the character sound dimwitted. It was absolutely annoying. I would have returned it but it was a BOGO.

Loved this story line. Kept the suspense up throughout the entire plot and had a wonderful story of reconciliation at the end!!

Great suspense!

Even though I found the story entertaining, I could not fully enjoy it because the main character, Shanna, was too much of a whiny cry baby. I couldn't handle it. Add to that the fact that the narrator portrayed Shanna's voice as a whiny, bimbo, cry-baby— it made it all the more unbearable. The other voices were great, but the voice for Shana made me cringe. That voice was the only reason I couldn't wait for the book to end. It was too ditsy... like a bimbo from a Disney cartoon movie. Other than that, the story was very enjoyable. I just had a hard time stomaching that Shana's character was too whiny, pitiful, and clueless, and her voice was too high pitch, cry babyish, and that of an overly annoying and whimpering ding-bat.

Very Entertaining

You will not be bored with this one. That's all I can say. I've been spending the last several days on a 26 hour road trip, and this book is so intriguing that it makes me look forward to driving.

Captivating!
