Critic reviews

"This book should be on every animal trainer's bookshelf...it is practical and very useful without sacrificing scientific and technical accuracy." (Jack Michael, PhD, Department of Psychology, Western Michigan University)

Text Book Material

This is a very comprehensive book on dog (and child/human) behavior and psychology. It reads like a text book, but the information is very well researched and presented. I wish that I would have read it when my own dog was younger. I think he's too old now to unlearn some of the habits and bad behaviors I've allowed and promoted. Many of the concepts reminded me of various Child Development classes I previously took in college.

Slow Start

First several chapters were on history of training. after getting through that, the valuable applicable areas started.

Very Technical

The performance was very technical and unless you understand, it would be hard to follow.

Really enjoyed this book.

Great detail and depth of subject. Good examples and well written with some humor, which can be difficult with this topic.

Great book. Less than great “narration”

The info is solid but the “narration” leaves some things to be desired. Mispronouncing important names makes this less than perfect.
