Publisher's summary

Christians are a large and influential voting block today. But as each governmental election approaches, an increasing polarity occurs within those claiming the Christian faith. This comes as a result of party-voting rather than voting according to Biblical mandates and authority. To refocus correctly, Dr. Tony Evans goes back to the basics and teaches about how God established government as a divine institution whose tasks include promoting the well-being of those within its realm and protection from evil.

Scripture trumps all political alliances, making the voting decision a critical opportunity for Christians to promote God's Word and His values through whom they elect. In the face of increasing emotions, the Christians representing the values of God's kingdom should communicate His truths in a manner reflective of the King - in a gracious and strategic way.

Dr. Evans also looks at the necessary qualities in a good candidate, which include intellect, education, competency, skill, and spiritual beliefs; whether certain issues are non-negotiables; and how a responsible citizen is to research a candidates' position in order to evaluate it against God's Word.

Excellent View on Voting

Excellent unbiased view on the principals to consider when you cast your vote. I highly recommend this book to all people. The book does not favor any political party. Don't be biased either way because the author is a pastor and don't assume his political position based on his ethnicity or his religious point of view. In today's world of polarization and "othering", this book is balanced in its approach. Even if you're not religious, give it a try. It may help you crystallize why you are voting and the positions, policies and persons you are voting for during an election.

Must read for all w/preexisting party alliances!

Any additional comments?

Until reading/listening to this it was unclear to me how and why Christians ought to vote and if we should even engage in the process if you don't fully agree with either side. This is a book that I think every Christian should read/listen to. If we all as a body and representatives of God's kingdom here on earth would put into practice what Dr Evans lays out scripturaly as what we as Christians must do, I believe it could change the direction of our nation from fear and uncertainty to one of destiny and purpose.

I am not a Democrat or a Republican, but a Kingdom Independent

Listen all whose eyes have fallen on this review! This book is a must read for every Christian who is eligible to vote in the United States of America. It carefully unpacks a biblical framework and practical principles on how to vote in a diligent and responsible way, without all of the animosity we see and hear in our day - especially leading up to what looks to be an extremely toxic election this year in November 2020.

It’s a quick read (listen) of less than 3 hrs, but I found it extremely helpful in solidifying how I sensed God wanted me to vote prior to reading this book. Now that I have read this book, I can better articulate my stand. One thing I know for sure and I am absolutely convinced of is this: I am not a democratic or a republican or a libertarian. I am a Kingdom Independent! I intend to vote in a way that examines key issues and advances God’s kingdom agenda in America. May God bless America. Amen.

Exceptional Non-Biased Literature

I love how he keeps the focus on a Kingdom agenda and correctly highlights the flaws in all political parties. I definitely needed to hear this before going back to the polls. Great listen
