The human drive for happiness is one of our most far-reaching and fundamental needs. Yet, despite our desperate search for happiness, according to a recent Gallup Poll, only a minority of North Americans describe themselves as "very happy". It seems that very few of us have truly unlocked the secrets of lasting joy and inner peace. Now, in this volume of all-new, never-before-released material, Paramhansa Yogananda—who has hundreds of thousands of followers and admirers in North America—playfully and powerfully explains virtually everything needed to lead a happier, more fulfilling life.

Topics covered include: looking for happiness in the right places; choosing to be happy; tools and techniques for achieving happiness; sharing happiness with others; balancing success and happiness, and many more. The Wisdom of Yogananda series features writings of Paramhansa Yogananda not available elsewhere. These books capture the Master's expansive and compassionate wisdom, his sense of fun, and his practical spiritual guidance. The books include writings from his earliest years in America, in an approachable, easy-to-digest format. The words of the Master are presented with minimal editing, to capture the fresh and original voice of one of the most highly regarded spiritual teachers of the 20th century.

I contacted the publishers about the 'S' sounds, and they fixed it very quickly. The sound quality is now perfect.
To the publisher: Thank you for addressing the issue promptly!

What struck me the most about this book is its simplicity and deep way of giving us a simple way in becoming happy and comfortable.

If you really like God then this is gonna be perfect for you. If your agnostic or atheist, or if you lean towards a Buddhist perspective for example then this book might not be for you. Yogananda clearly has a strong Hindu background and his advice near the end of the book becomes all about God realization. The beginning is all about mindset and choosing to be happy. Truth be told in the modern world a great deal of people have issues with how many happy chemicals their brain are creating thus causing depression. A mindset or belief in God is unlikely to change any of that however some people may find that this approach works for them. A Stoic or Buddhist thought would be that you are not your thoughts or your feelings and you can come to a point of acceptance even when you are in a negative state of mind. If you like the no mind, meditative state type of take on consciousness consider checking out Osho. Osho is more my style.

State of mind and God consciousness are touched on as solutions to finding happiness.

This is a very good book. However, the quality of the recording is very poor. The ‘s’ sounds are piercing to the ear and I believe the narrator did not have proper setting for his mic. This should be re-recorded. Also, the narrator needs to speak normal and not overly put on a spiritual tone for the book. The words themselves hold power.

I just found it challenging to relate to as far as applying to daily life. It’s interesting over-all, but prefer something like ‘The power of Now’ which is much more useful in daily life.

Hard to apply to modern life
