Publisher's summary

One's level of intelligence is not the primary determiner of who wins an argument. It is the ability to use nuances of language and simple models of logic and reframing to create and direct meaning. Real persuasive power comes from focusing on creating context to fit the argument and audience.

Without a doubt, you can have great success and great fun winning arguments. However, beware of those opposing you, because you may annoy them with your argumentative prowess by "always being right".

Real persuasive power comes from focusing on creating context to fit the argument and audience.

Communication and logic skills are a great power. You may think it’s only for those with the gift of gab or the highest IQs, but you don’t need to be a genius to learn.

Discover how to:

  • Be more persuasive, engaging, and confident in any conversation.
  • Communicate and express yourself assertively with a pinch of panache.
  • Completely transform your personality as desired to become more outgoing, humorous, and respected.
  • Find the power of your voice that eluded you in the past for fear or lack of the proper keys to converse or argue.

Foundational Debate Skills

This author distills the most functional parts of different debate strategies, into a single, functional technique that is effective and easy to follow. He emphasizes the importance of strategy over simply knowing the facts, as most people are aware, simply knowing the facts often isn't enough to win an argument.

The audiobook is organized in a way that is easy to understand and easy digest, and the narrator was engaging and easy to follow. Looking forward to applying my new found skills, and planning on consulting this a few times again in the future too.

Great info and techniques to use!

This may sound weird, but I picked up this book to help me communicate better with my child and husband, not necessarily to "win" arguments. I live with two very strong family members and sometimes I am not able to get my point across. I got tons of help from this book, such as the importance of context when communicating with people and convincing people to see things from my point of view. I love the science and theory behind this subject and the author does a great job providing that. Well done book! I’ll definitely be going through this one again!

Logic and Humor for the Win!

Part of this books title - “You Don’t Have to be Smarter to be Right” caught my attention and convinced me that this was exactly the book I needed to hear! I’ve always felt that debate and coming up with logical responses during the pressure of an argument were not my strength at all. Certain friends and family members seem so good at winning arguments that I usually don’t bother saying much even if I disagree and feel strongly about a matter.

But this audiobook book convinced me it is possible to win arguments through reframing, persuasion, NLP techniques and by using words and context to my advantage. Looking forward to practicing the skills I learned in this book and finally facing arguments with confidence! Highly recommend!

Arguing On Another Level

The insight into making an argument is phenomenal. It puts arguing on another level. One of my favorite chapters on this book talks about mind mapping. Maps are only so accurate and are not always reality. We have to know all that's going and be open. Excellent listen.
