About this listen
Songs move people. They create visuals in our minds, and stoke fires in our hearts. They lift us up, take us down, and allow our minds to soar.
Chris Greenwood is the man behind Manafest: the globally successful rock and rap musician who’s sold millions of singles and albums world-wide.
With over 20 years experience in the industry, both as a signed artist and an independent musician, Chris shares his incredible experience as a song writer and hit-maker in this audiobook.
The modern music industry has undergone a revolution in recent years. The traditional gate-keepers have ebbed away, and now more than ever new artists can find audiences without the backing of a music label. But it’s hard going it alone, and even harder to know what it takes to achieve the level of success that will sustain you both artistically and financially for years to come.
Chris has lived and learned through this remarkable time, forging his own path away from a record label, racking up hit after hit and continuing to reach new fans every day.
Practical, honest, and generous: This book is the ultimate guide to writing, recording, releasing, and marketing your first song to a global stage.
You have the power to write your own destiny with your songs and lyrics. Now is the time for you to take the first step. Write the message that only you can write, and cause revolutions and revelations in the hearts of your listeners.

Mary Gauthier was 12 years old when she was given her Aunt Jenny’s old guitar and taught herself to play with a Mel Bay basic guitar workbook. Music offered her a window to a world where others felt the way she did. Songs became lifelines to her, and she longed to write her own, one day. Then, for a decade, while struggling with addiction, Gauthier put her dream away and her call to songwriting faded. It wasn’t until she got sober and went to an open mic with a friend did she realize that she not only still wanted to write songs, she needed to.

Matt Pinfield is the ultimate music fan. He's the guy who knows every song, artist, and musical riff ever recorded, down to the most obscure band's B-side single on its vinyl-only EP import. As a child, music helped Pinfield make sense of the world. Later he would approach his music idols after concerts and explain why he loved their music. As an adult, rock music inspired his career, fueled relationships, and, at times, became a life raft.

Excellent and on point
I write fiction, and I have the need to write my own custom songs for my books. I've thought about licensing songs, but I couldn't afford that with an indie writer budget, so I decided to write my own content. However, I had no clue where to start. The chapter titled: Filling the Well of Inspiration was excellent for finding lyrics and titles. The 4 Cs on the confidant songwriter chapter helped me put it all together, even if it was for a novel. This audiobook has excellent advice and is well-rounded. I've always had trouble with marketing, and after listening to Chris Greenwood's marketing advice, I got some great ideas. If you are writing songs or thinking about writing them, then get this book. Highly recommended.

Helping me achieve my childhood dream!
When I was little I love to sing and I imagine myself on a big stage singing my own songs, I even wrote down some lyrics when I was in elementary school. I love this book the author has so much passion and experience in the music industry! I’ve learn a lot in this book and switching my mindset! Like he said we really have to think who are we writing the song to? I always think I will perform for everyone but author said when you are thinking you are targeting everyone you are targeting no one! Can’t wait to write my own song now!!

A practical and expert approach to songwriting!
Chris will take you on a great journey with this insightful book. It is an expert guide to the practicals of writing a song. I have always assumed that great pieces of famous music that really make in big are exclusively written by professionals. Well, it didn’t really occur to me in the past that everyone has to start somewhere. This is, in fact, my biggest takeaway from this book, Rome wasn’t built in a day, if you want to give it a try, start where you are. This expert guide gives away all the secrets and steps in the process, all you have to do is try! Im not saying my first failed attempt is going ever to be a hit, but if you always doubted you have the skills, and are full of passion for the project - this book is definitely for you!
Five stars all round!
