Great story but the audio quality needed cleaning

I really enjoyed this short story. It was told well and the performers did a great job. Unfortunately, the ambient noise overpowered their voices a lot in the story. I realize combat is extremely noisy and chaotic, but it didn't need to be that level in this book. I would have 5 starred this if not for that.

OK, but not great

They tried to make a story that showed the life of a howling banshee, and tried to use the death of someone and the sorrow that people feel in that situation as the hook to make you feel for the characters. Good try, but it just didn't seem to have enough to really pull me in.

Please Stop

Gav Thorpe writing about Eldar -> Good

Putting reverb effects over all the conversations, having sound effects etc -> Very Bad, generally unnecessary, and made it REALLY hard to hear what was going on

The main narrator was fine, but sometimes she was drowned out by other things going on

Just go buy the book I guess

The performance absolutely carried this story

Gav thorpe has a hard on for worfing the eldar because he thinks it's more interesting for them to be just a dying weak race. in one scene fire dragon Fusion guns splash upon bloodletters like water on a rock. when melta guns, especially dragon Fusion guns and fire pikes are normally quite effective against Daemons since fire is has alot of symbolism as purifying. but in is this story they are about as effective as a super soaker.

Crusade plus other short stories better

This is also in Crusade Plus Other Short Stories and is a superior version in my opinion. This one is a bit overdone and hard to hear over the unnecessary sound effects.
