Publisher's summary

From NYT and USA Today best-selling author Kym Grosso...a novel in the Immortals of New Orleans series, now optioned for film.

Hunter Livingston’s trip to Hell had been a calculated risk. Best case scenario, the Alpha would save a friend and come out unscathed; at worst, he’d burn in flames for eternity. But finding the high priestess had never been part of his plan, nor was rescuing the near-dead stranger he'd found lying by her side. Drawn to the mysterious woman, he’d sworn to protect her from the rogue pack who sold her into Hell and the demon who sought her soul.

With royal blood flowing through her veins, Dr. Willa Jacobs had long hidden her Lycan heritage. Deep within the rainforest, she’d unearthed a discovery that drew the attention of both humans and the forces of evil. Rescued by the charismatic Alpha, she’d known her kidnappers would never give up looking for her or her research. As the dominant Alpha stirred her beast to rise, her emotions warred, and she was more determined than ever to see her adversaries burn in Hell.

From Wyoming to Louisiana, Hunter and Willa spiral into an erotic and dangerous journey where they question who is foe or friend, and must fight to destroy their enemies. As Willa grows closer to the sexy Alpha, will she divulge her true nature, embracing the strength of her abilities? If they survive, will Hunter claim his mate, accepting the hellfire that runs through her veins?

Hunter is written to be listened to as a stand-alone, but many listeners prefer to hear the series in order.

A Hit and Miss

The story and MF writing was good, per usual but I miss Ryan West’s narration. There are very few male narrators that can pull off female narration but Ryan does it straight without adding what he thinks is a female voice. For most male narrators that ends up being some high pitched 13-year old. In this dual narration the female sounds like a teenager, whiny and unsure of what to say. She was just a turn-off for me. The male narrators was fine.

So all and all the book was a hit and miss but WTF with the ending? Now I can’t wait to read Viktor’s story.

Can It get any hotter?

Just when I think that this series couldn't get any hotter....my my my... Hunter the latest book in the Immortals of New Orleans series delivered 100%. Good to see and get to know new characters, while revisiting some old. Glad to see everyone made it out of Hell. The story really picks up, unfortunately we do not figure out who Elspbeth was working with, all we know is demon or demon kind. Hopefully the next book will enlighten us as to how she landed in this pile of you know what, but until then...
Buckle in for the ride.

Menza Menza

I love Hunter and I enjoy the story but Victor really got on my nerves.. and so did Willa at times .. geez I even at one point said OMGOSH SHUT UP !

I like people joking around but Victor was way over board he got on my nerves even in book 9 , Willa's attitude at times made me want to slap her . it also irritated me the way Willa spoke to Hunter he deserved better then her ..

She is just so arrogant and bossy and most of the time wouldn't listen .. I think a little of it could have been the women who spoke Willa's part ..

But I'm glad I listened to this book because I like the series.

🌻loved the duet narration, not the male narrator 🌻

🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻V from Kansas 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

I really wondered why this book took so long to come out on audio. I suspect now, it was due to the change in narration style and personnel. If you’ve read any of my reviews, you know how much I love duet narration, however, Wen Ross’s voice is not “Alpha” enough, for this series. In addition, I am so used to Ryan West’s voice and narration style, this team’s narration just didn’t fit. It’s not the writing, I read the book long before I listened to it and the book “read” with the same rhythm as the previous books.

I love Kym Grosso’s books. They are sexy and I love the characters. However, the plots aren’t original, they are all very similar; I love them anyway.

All of this series has gruesome violence, very explicit sex scenes and almost all of them include some kind of ménage, so if can’t handle it, skip this series. Myself, I can’t wait for the next release.

MS GROSSO, PLEASE BRING BACK RYAN WEST AND ADD A FEMALE, TO CONTINUE WITH DUET NARRATION!!!!

Sadly disappointed

I love Kym Grosso’s books, am a avid reader and listener. If you are a Ryan West fan, I would suggest reading this book than listening to it. After listening to the whole series and Ryan West’s fantastic narration of the various characters, this was very disappointing. Wen Ros and Kai Kennicot are great on singular characters, not multiple characters with different personalities. I will rather read the next book if these two are narrating the next one.

Another 5-Star book from Kym Grosso!

Immortals of New Orleans is one of my all time favorite series and this Hunter is a great addition!

The performance of Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross in dual narration adds to the intensity during the action, and the sexual tension during the intimate scenes. Wen’s growl deep voice is perfect for Hunter and his alpha ways.

Hunter

Even though I have read Hunter, hearing it read really helped me be in the story.

When Hunter goes into hell to get Victor, little does he realize he would find the high priestess and his mate as well. What a wild ride to save Willa from a future lifetime in hell. But why is Willa so different, what is it about her? Will Hunter and Willa be able to have a life together or will the demons be able to get her and to her back to hell?

Loved Kai's narration. Sometimes is was hard to tell one character from another with Wen. But all and all good narration.

Just love all of Kym's books.

Great book, great narration

Hunter goes to help to save a friend and finds his mate. Although I miss the voice of Ryan West, the combination of Sent Ross and Kai Kennicott make the story come alive.

She did it again

Another fantastic book in this series!! It’s like I never left this author’s world because from the first page I was sucked right back in. And oh my goodness!! Hunter goes to Hell with one objective in mind- to rescue Viktor, but he could not pass up the opportunity need to bring two more stowaways. Hunter and Viktor’s verbal sparring was absolutely hilarious. The banter back-and-forth between these two had me in tears. But it gets serious when rogue demon wolves are still chasing Willa. I absolutely love seeing the great Hunter Livingston falling for his mate. Willa comes with some big surprises for just being an “ordinary” she-wolf. Will all of them avoid being sent back to Hell a second go-around? I can’t wait for more of this series! I highly recommend this book!!
