About this listen

I thought I understood power.

My parents taught me that magic attracts equal danger, and everything I've seen since becoming a demon contractor confirms it. I've witnessed how power twists and corrupts - and I've tasted power no human should wield.

I thought I knew greed.

Ambition and avarice drove my family into hiding. My parents died for someone else's greed. I've never hunted anything in my life, but now I'm hunting their killer - with my demon's help.

I thought I'd seen evil.

But with each step closer to my parents' murderer, I'm uncovering a different sort of evil, piece by hidden piece. I've stumbled into an insidious web that silently, secretly ensnares everything it touches. My demon and I came as the hunters...but I think we might be the prey.

Make sure to check out the companion series, The Guild Codex: Spellbound, available now, and The Guild Codex: Warped, coauthored by Rob Jacobsen, available summer 2020.

Wow, Robin and her demon get closer!

Hunting Fiends for the Ill-Equipped
Guild Codex: Demonized, Book 3
By: Annette Marie
Narrated by: Cris Dukehart
Love this series! Robin and her hot demon get closer still. She also learns more about him and her ancestor's past. She also has to make a deal that she may later regret. Lots of action, suspense, some romance, and giggles sprinkled in there too.
Great narration!

I Really, Really, Really Enjoyed This Book!

I really, really, really enjoyed this book! Everything is falling apart but I have faith that the author knows what she's doing. This author sure knows how to weave a story and make it stick to you like glue.

Robin is sweet but at the same time kick*ss. The relationship she maintains with Zylas is incredible and complex. I like how she blushes even when the wind blows too hard. She's adorable and Zylas has become her rock to a degree in these past few books.

Zylas is awesome! He's been slowly learning human customs and it's finally showing. He has a very calculating side to him and I love how he's using it to help Robin. Also, let's rejoice at THOSE scenes! I didn't expect it to happen but it did and I'm not crying, you are!

The one thing I disliked about this book was how the author had to backtrack and replay events from Robin and Zylas's point of view for quite a bit of the novel. It was still exciting but I wanted to story to move long even farther not be stuck catching up to the latest Guild Codex: Spellbound book.

I loved how the depth of Robin and Zylas's relationship evolved, especially at the end! I can't wait for the last book in this series. It'll definitely be one of those books where I'm sad to say goodbye.

The Audio Book:

The narration was fantastic! There were no strange noises in the background and all the character's were discernable from each other.

Amazing

I just recently started listening to annette Marie's stories, Chris dukehart is a fantastic narrorator just like James marshters and The dresden files. I really am enjoying Robin's story even more than Tori's especially how vastly different her adventures are from Tori's im going to be really sad when I finish the penultimate climax of both their stories.

Totally captivating

I am wholly engrossed in this series. I want to just listen to it all in one sitting but work calls. However when I finish the book I am sad and eager to start the next.

This series keeps getting more interesting-rare!

I’m not used to this. It’s become my own personal catnip. (Advice though, to editors or whoever- mix up adverbs and don’t let Robin the heroine fall down SO much.. so something else useless...😊. So far I love this side series
better than the original that got me started.
(One unlikely event- that Zylis hasn’t figured how to read in his own.)

Series summary for me, vague spoiler alert

There might be some spoilers mentioned; don't read if you are not interested in having the series spoiled.

I was hesitant to read this series due to some of the reviews regarding the female character. I'm very wary of characters who make a situation worse because of naiveté or just plain stupidity. But after giving this entire Demonized series a chance, I am glad I did push past that review.

Book 1 sparked my curiosity. I found myself rooting for Zylas while the ignorant female pushed past her own barriers. I won't lie; the beginning had me waiving due to the speed at which the story flows and how long it took to meet Zylas. But the moment he allowed her to touch him, I found myself tangled in this new world, holding my breath and smiling. For me, that is when the magic began.

Book 2 and 3 started by irritating me beyond belief. Not because of the writing or my favorite demon Zylas, but because of the irritatingly ignorant female lead, Robin. Hear me out for a moment. Her constant battle in her mind had me frustrated beyond belief. I found myself just telling Zylas to kill her and find someone new that would look past his demon ways. But by the time I got halfway through Book 3, I realized the battle was needed. I started to relate to her struggle between who she thought she was and who she wanted to be. The termoil was needed to build that character dependability for both Zylas and Robin.

Book 4 zipped up the series and handed the ending to me with a bow on it. It ended the way I was hoping it would and left me contemplating whether I would read the related series. My favorite moment is when Zylas finally breaks down and asks the questions we all wanted answered back in books 2 and 3.

👏

We’ve gone from PG to PG13 in this 1 ladies 🤣 Barely but still. Seriously though this is so fun to read, I wish this story had 8 more books.

Amazing book as always

I love this and the companion series. Every book keeps getting better and better. Annette Marie knows how to draw you into the story and become so invested in the characters that you don’t want the story to end. The narrator is great and I would love to her her narrate other novels. So excited for the next and last books of the series to come out!
