Publisher's summary

Rylee Phillips learned the hard way that you need to live each day to the fullest. That’s why she came back home to turn the inheritance of her aunt’s old homestead into a bed-and-breakfast. The townsfolk think she’s crazy to take on the task, and maybe she is, but at least she’s smart enough to know she needs help...and the clever ad she places in the local paper is sure to get attention.

A devastating loss has left Wyatt Grayson lost. Selling his business, he takes off cross country to see if he can outrun the nightmares and find...something. When an amusing ad for skills he hasn't put to use in a long time catches his eye, he jumps at the unexpected opportunity. He plans to work for a few weeks, keeping his hands busy and biding his time; what he doesn’t expect is his new boss showing him how to live again.

Heartwarming, Sweet Story

This was a heartwarming, sweet story with endearing characters. I enjoyed the storyline and I thought that Ken Solin did an okay job with the narration. I wish he had put a bit more emotion into his narration in parts though. I received a free copy of this audiobook and have voluntarily provided an unbiased review.

Cute story!

I really enjoyed this book. What a cute story. Loved the characters of the book. It is sweet, silly and a little sassy. I couldn't have been more happy with the way it ended too. I would definitely listen to this again.

A second chance at love story

This is a new author for me. I like the storyline and how everything fell into place. The narrator does have a nice reading voice, but I did feel that the narrator could have put more feeling into some parts he was reading.

Cute Love Story

This is a nice little love story. I’m sure you can guess where it’s going by the summary but it is still a nice journey.

Finding love when you aren't looking for it...

Rylee Phillips finally gets a break in her miserable life...sort of. She has inherited her aunt's ranch house and has plans to turn it into a bed and breakfast. This is just the distraction that she needs to get over her failed engagement and recovery from a bout with breast cancer. Her hometown, with her brother and sister-in-law, is all she needs to lick her wounds and get her life back on track. Now she just needs a handyman to help with the renovations on the house. She places an ad for a 'handyman/husband'. Wyatt Grayson also needs a break from his life...after a devastating loss, he sells his construction company and is travelling the country. He lands in Timber Creek and learns that Rylee needs help with her house...this is just the distraction that he needs. Rylee doesn't hesitate to hire Wyatt, after all his price is dirt cheap, plus room and board. Over several weeks, Wyatt and Rylee work together to restore the old house and get to know each other. Feelings grow and we just know that this pair can heal each other's hurts/scars...but will they? Can Wyatt get past his loss to let Rylee into his heart? Meanwhile, there is a great sub story with Rylee's brother and SIL; as well as Wyatt's identical twin, Sam. Loved the HEA and I am really looking forward to the rest of the series.

Second chance at love and small town story

This was my first T.D. Jones's book. This is a sweet second chance at love story, well written. This story takes place in Timber Creek, a small town in Texas. Rylee and Wyatt are great together. They remained strong despite the trials of life. The secondary characters are also really interesting. I like the beautiful ending. I'm looking forward for the next book in the Series. The narration was easy to listen. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

healing love

Rylee's brother was beyond patronizing to Rylee about selling the house, and that irked me so bad!! I give a lot of credit to Wyatt for what he did at the end- no spoiler. There are no promises in life, but risks and chances are real and devastating! They say, "better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all". I wonder if they ever had a broken heart?!?! Amazing emotional and inspirational story I loved. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this story and am giving an honest review of. The narrator's voice and expressions were excellent and added to my enjoyment of this story.
