About this listen

What happens when your biggest crush turns up on your doorstep after 12 years?

Cadence Crawford has a good thing going. He’s making waves as a realtor in Mission City, British Columbia. Yes, he’s recently suffered a personal loss, but he’s moving on, and his path forward includes selling the only true home he’s ever known.

Marcus Brannigan is doing fine. He has his physiotherapy practice, he watches over his younger twin sisters, and he’s happy. When he unexpectedly runs into Cadence, who is selling the home he’s always coveted, he’s prepared to do some negotiating.

Neither knew they were seriously crushing on each other. Now they’ve admitted the truth, is happily ever after in the cards?

"Marcus’s Cadence" is a 7,000-word second-chance gay romance instalove short story with a very happy ending and a Maltipoo named Kiki.

This being such a short story it would've been better if the 7000 words were more story. The emotion was flat in this story thus making the sex scene stale. It's got the potential to be a really sweet story, but it just falls flat.

Love what is here but I really wish there was more. Hopefully we will see these two again. Audio was well done.

A short, sweet inst-love story.
Cadence meets up with his his teenage crush, Marcus while showing the house he grew up in. Turns out Marcus never forgot Cadence. Their reconnection rekindles the attraction on both sides and they really 'reconnect'!
Michael Dean definitely turns up the sultry connection between both men. Easy listen!

A short sweet story with some unexpected added heat.

Narration: 4 ⭐️
Michael Dean narrated this short story by Gabbi Grey, he did a great job with it .
Great energy and heat when the situation called for it. Clear smooth voice, with a nice depth to it. Very nice to listen to.

Story: 4 ⭐️
This short story, as one would suspect jumps straight in to the story. Cadence and Marcus are good characters, I like the vibes they have between them.
Definitely which they had a full novel and not just a short. Marcus is surprisingly sweet, like a big muscly teddy bear 🧸 .

Definitely recommend this toasty short, perfect to make your chores at home much more interesting and fun doing 😃

This is a short, sweet, love story written by an author that is new to me. As always Michael Dean did a fantastic job in the narration of this book, he has a way of making a book come to life.

I won't reiterate what the book cover says, because you can read that for yourself. This book needs to be the start of a series... I would read this for sure. I want to know more about these two characters, there is definitely something there that could make a full length story. I will definitely read more from this author.

Dance partner's older brother, acquaintance to lovers, low angst.

Noooo... Please say there is more!!! 😢

This audiobook was short so I knew the story would be a bit limited. But I never really felt a connection with the characters. Marcus claims that he has loved Cadence for years but then won’t acknowledge that they’re together. For me, things moved very fast but not in a believable way. I’ve listened to other books from this author that I’ve really liked but this one missed the mark for me. Michael Dean’s narration was great as usual.

Very Short

I really enjoyed this it was nice to know they had a backstory with mutual attraction before they saw each other again I liked the setting and emotional connection to the house but I feel like the story left a lot of things up in the air like not telling his family yet and how his sister would react to seeing her old dance partner again after pushing him away otherwise it was enjoyable

Great short story

This is a first listen of mine from Gabbi Grey. It’s quick and steamy. I loved Michael Dean being the one to bring it to life. I adore second chance romances, especially childhood crushes coming together. This is a great listen, however sooo short. Im so going to find more reads and listens of Gabbi Grey. It was the perfect intro into their writing universe! Recommend.

Sweet steamy listen

I knew going in that there wasn’t going to be much to this story, but even so there just wasn’t enough to their encounter. Even taking their background into consideration, too much doesn’t make sense about how things progressed between Cadence and Marcus. Also, there were just too many things left unresolved to have a satisfying ending. I wish the author had gone back, expanding and polishing the story. Still, Michael Dean did a good job narrating with what he had to work with here.

It doesn't take long to get through this one but it is still a good short story. A good sort of second chance story with great narration by Michael Dean

I received an ARC and this is my unbiased opinion
