About this listen

Improbable, if not impossible. How could a people who’d been scattered for two millennia reestablish a homeland on their ancient soil?

Against all odds, an irresistible desire to return grew in courageous Jewish men and women who set out to rebuild their decimated homeland.

Help came first through Great Britain’s pledge to restore Palestine to the Jews. Britain, however, nearly reneged on that promise just as the Jews faced the Nazi Holocaust.

Near the end of WWII, an unlikely man rose to the presidency of the United States. Harry S. Truman, a farmer and failed business owner, would decide not only the fate of Jewish survivors but also the future of their homeland.

As a vote approached in the fledgling United Nations, pressure mounted. Truman slammed the White House doors shut to all who wanted to discuss Jewish statehood. Could anyone persuade the most powerful man in the world to reconsider?

I Am Cyrus tells the epic story of Israel’s rebirth - promises made, promises broken, and ultimately the fulfillment of the ancient prophecy that this people would indeed return to their Promised Land.

Absolutely Unmistakably Divinely Orchestrated.

Until now, I really had not seen the affliction that would accompany being chosen as a people for the sake of God's name. World history repeatedly has proven how these people have been denied, kicked around & even grossly hated just because of that fact. Jesus said Himself that the world hated Him, and if we are in Him, then we should expect to be hated as well. But what the world doesn't know, or chooses to forget, is that they will all be judged in the end at the hand of these very people according to how there were treated while here on earth. But even aside from that, they truly are an amazing people, with history and tradition and mandate of being a blessing to others, which they display in countless ways, especially to those sworn to annihilate them. They will fulfill their mandate in bringing Salvation to the nations once they recognize Him whom we all have pierced. I forever stand with Israel, although being a gentile myself. Thank God for these Truths for us to glean. Thank God for His Word to show us the Way, the Truth and the Life. God bless His Covenant People, His Covenant Land, and His Messiah Yeshua (the Salvation of YHWH) forever and ever, amen!

Amazing story in spite of issues

The story of the the rebirth of Israel is the most amazing and improbable in all of history. The probability of such an event defies any statistic save The Lord God and his everlasting promise to his chosen people. There are many books dedicated to this subject and this is not the best nor the one to get as an intro to the subject. Maybe as a read book instead of audio.

The audio version is hampered by the narrator, who is also the author, and his inconsistencies. At times he’s doing voices and at times just reading. It’s are to follow. Too, it’s very long and really isn’t about Harry Truman’s part at all. He’s just in the title and was the President at the time. It’s a complete history in dire need of editing. The book goes back to the 1800’s, which is fine. But you can’t help but feeling it would be a better read book than listened to. Author read books can go either way. Amazing history.

Epic conclusion to a 2,000 year struggle

This book was an Herculean effort to research, write and then verbally record. It felt like I was on a roller coaster ride as the book progressed and the struggle continued. Attention to the many details added to the final understanding of what a monmouth accomplishment this was for President Truman, the nation of and for the Jewish people.
We’ll written, researched and an inspiration!

This truly is an Epic story 2,000 years in the making.

Detailed without dragging

Contrary to other reviews, I found the narration perfectly satisfactory. The author’s use of expression was not distracting. The book is less about Truman than it is a history of Zionism, in which Truman played a crucial role in the last century. 10/10 recommended!
