Publisher's summary

When physician Paul Schaeffer is inexplicably and suddenly dumped by Julie Bradley, an alluring and skilled nurse, several years into their often rocky but quite blissful romance, he attempts to make some sense of her behavior by mentally reliving the captivating journey from when they first met to their apparent bitter end.

Though Julie seems to have definitively replaced him with another man, Paul suspects that there is much more to understand as Julie's abusive childhood left her not only with horrible physical scars, but deep emotional wounds as well. Julie suffers with Borderline Personality Disorder, a harrowing psychological condition so complex as to make Paul question if there is not more to their unique relationship that has yet to be written.

Inspired by actual events, I Am Still Right Here is the compelling story of love in the dark shadow of a potentially devastating psychological ailment, and how two people strive to find their way into the light.

Intimate meaningful picture of bpd relationship

As a former partner of a person diagnosed with BPD - this book captured so many elements of the relationship that I experienced and was cathartic to me and supportive of my personal recovery and journey. I only wish I had understood more sooner. I think it is a mandate for today's mental health profession to move past the misunderstandings of the past and to portray BPD in terms that the general population can understand and appreciate and give hope for those who are suffering.

Hope is there This book is a big step in the right direction!

I should also add it was a gripping story and thoroughly enjoyable!!

Listen to this Book

This Book is not only about Borderline Disorder it is also about the pain of everday life that all people go through regardless of their problems Borderline or anything else. How people put their heads down and soldier on through life dealing with pain and reality. It is so well written it keeps you moving from one chapter to the next, You can't put this book down. This book is also extremely accurate on technicalities of Borderline Personality Disorder. The Characters although fictional they seem very real as does this story. The Book iteslf will educate the reader on Borderline Personality Disorder and how to deal with someone you love or who is very important to you that has this disorder. In this book a youg Couple a Medical Doctor who is in charge of an Emergency Room and his Girlfriend who is a Charge Nurse in an Emergency Room find themselves on a life adventure as they encounter and uncover the truth about Borderline Personality Disorder and what it is. The Book is funny, painful, and very innocent, wholesome and beautiful. It is a story that needs to be told and some day hopefully will become a Major Motion Picture. It is that good. Narration: I listend to alot of Audible Books and the Narrator is superb. This author has an excellent Narrator to tell this story.

Outstanding Work of Art!

This book deeply moved me.

It educated me on BPD, providing me with immeasurable insight into my own behaviour as a person with BPD.

It is written exquisitely beautifully with visceral intensity.

The characters and story line, based mostly on actual events, gave me much hope for my own recovery.

I believe this book is a must read for everyone who’s life is tragically touched by BPD.

I hope that Dr. Serfer will go on to write more much needed books on this subject.

Thank you, Dr. Serfer.
