About this listen

A heart-stopping, gripping thriller for fans of C. L. Taylor, Karin Slaughter, and Linwood Barclay

On the tenth anniversary of her daughter Autumn's abduction, Francine receives an anonymous note containing just five words: I know where she is.

When a young woman approaches her the next day claiming to have sent the letter, Francine wants to dismiss it as a cruel, twisted joke. But the stranger knows things that only Autumn would know.

Francine discovers that danger comes from unexpected sources. She will do things she never imagined herself capable of. But will she get her daughter back – or is it too late?

The storyline was very different from what I expected. However, that’s probably what kept me listening.

Strange but good

I was quickly sucked in and really enjoyed this book. The climax of the story and ending felt super rushed and almost like the author didn't know where they wanted to go with it. Especially the ending caught somewhere between wanting it to be an ongoing series and wanting it to be a completed story. It doesn't ruin the book by any means but there was some lost potential.

Loved 90%

Story was decent but the narrators voice got worse as the story went on. Her males voices were awful!

Narrator ruined it

The narrator was great as well as the story! I really enjoyed this audio book

Enjoyed this book start to finish!

I feel like I couldn’t get into the story line bc the narrator butchered it. It’s like your mom is reading you the book like it’s a kiddie book. This kind of story doesn’t match with the narration. Pretty much ruined it for me. I had to buy the book and read it myself

Horrible narration

This books needs trigger warnings!! I read many different genres ever some that require “trigger warnings” this book should be on that list!!

Some of the story line was decent however I was completely shocked by the turn that this book took and would like to have been better prepared for what to expect.

It was thrilling and multifaceted, and the writing was good, but the realism of everything going "right" for the protagonists was a little too much!
Don't get me wrong, I found the book enjoyable and thrilling! And I'm really not sure I could've been altered to make some of the risks taken by Autumn and Francine a little less conspicuous, and the emphasis that fame and likability does not protect anyone from being scum or an evil person is realistic!

Exciting and intriguing

in this day and age of sex/child trafficking, this book is quite real. The beginning was a bit slow but it seemed to pick up the pace. I was hoping that more inflation would have come to the foreground before the epilogue. Will definitely read/listen to more from this author. Hopefully there is a next book in the series as it seems to have just left off with a lot more story to tell .

So real

The story teller needed to sound different when reading the mens voices. More gruff when she was being the bad guys

Great story
