About this listen

A new holiday romantic comedy from best-selling author of Tis the Season for Revenge!

A year ago, Jules stumbled upon the man of her dreams in a bar on New Year's Eve. After a lifetime of watching romantic comedies, she was sure she had found her soulmate. That is, until she learned he has an entire family and blocked him.

A year later, she’s having the worst day she possibly could, leaving her stuck on the sidewalk outside her place in a ballet costume, watching firefighters condemn her house because of a water main break when a little girl grabs her hand and tells her she’s her Christmas wish.

When Nate’s daughter tells Santa all she wants for Christmas is for her dad to marry the real-life version of her favorite doll, he dreads having to tell her the truth. When they run into the spitting image of the doll, ballerina costume and all minutes later, he’s floored to find that it’s his dream woman who disappeared from his life last Christmas.

Nate’s meddling sisters offer his in-law suite and his contracting skills to Jules in exchange for watching his daughter, and he jumps on the opportunity. Now, he has just a few weeks to use Christmas magic to make her realize they are meant to be.

Thank you so much Morgan and @valentine_pr_ for this gifted audiobook!

“The world is chaos and full of disappointment and heartbreak. I like living in the fantasy of that, that two people could meet and go on some grand adventure and fall in love and ride off into the sunset.”

Review Title & Vibes:
{If This Was a Movie You Would Read This Immediately} Reading a single-dad romance on Father’s Day was exactly what I my bookish self needed. Nate Donovan is all green flags (even though he withheld vital info - I don’t blame him). He’s dependable, loving, and has the big and small gestures on lock. Jules is a hopeless romantic who is fearful of taking a chance on love. Add in the most precious and meddling daughter Sophie and you’ll get the perfect movie-like romance.

Things I Loved:
-The Donovan family - wholesome, nosy, and supportive.
-A Christmas magic second chance - definitely hallmark movie worthy (can someone option this book please?!)
-Swoony grand gestures gallore 🥰

Audio Notes:
(Dual) Savannah and Sebastian were excellently cast for Jules and Nate. The romance vibes were strong. I felt Jules’ hesitancy, and Nate’s steady pursuit. I would definitely recommend this audiobook.

Recommended to...
Single dad romance readers who want a delightfully bingeable hallmark worthy read.

This book felt like a love letter to my favorite romcom movies of the past. Jules and Nate meet on New Year's Eve when they are both dining solo. They hit it off and through a course of events and a snowstorm, they spend two incredible days together. Jules is led to believe he has a family and blocks him. They are reunited one year later. On the street outside her business / home after a water main break. Jules in her ballerina costume and Nate with his adorable daughter, Sophie, holding a doll that is the spitting image of Jules. Nate also in complete shock that he’s face to face with the woman that ghosted him a year ago.

Through some meddling sisters and a determined five-year-old with a Christmas wish, Jules moves into Nate’s cottage home while the work is being done on her place. She also agrees to help with Sophie when Nate is busy. Jules and Sophie are kindred spirits. She has a soft spot for the spunky girl with an attitude wise beyond her years. Nate realizes this is his chance to win her back after the misunderstanding a year ago. Jules hasn’t met a romcom she doesn’t like. Jules wants the fairy tale, but she’s been hurt, and it has her fearful to let go. Nate is patient with her and ultimately decides to recreate scenarios from her favorite movies to woo and court her. It’s adorable.

Narrated by Sebastian York and Savannah Peachwood. They were a delight. I will never get tired of Sebastian as the single dad devoted to the ones he loves. Savannah portrayed Jules’ independence, her insecurities and fear always waiting for the other shoe to drop, her empathy and her playful nature.

This was a quick, fun listen with a nod to romcoms of the past. It’s a holiday story that can be enjoyed anytime. I look forward to the next in the series.

Probably cliche to say since that’s quite literally the point of the book but this was basically a cheesy hallmark movie and I’m absolutely here for it! If this was a movie ….. 😏 ….. I would watch it all the time

So cute!

If you are a fan of romcoms this book is perfect for you! With references to some of the best romcoms and "if this was a movie" lines this book was a refreshing palate cleanser. Jules & Nate have a snowed in weekend date but Jules soon believes Nate has a child and is married. About a year later, Jules is standing outside her dance studio looking like a ballerina when a little girl declares she is her Christmas wish. She wants Jules to marry her dad....who is Nate!
The audiobook is narrated by Savannah Peachwood and Sebastian York. They did a great job bringing this fun book to life.

This was such a cute listen! I really loved Passenger Princess and this is book two in the series. There is some crossover as the FMCs from each book are best friends, so you get little glimpses of the other couple here and there throughout the book! This is actually a bit of holiday/winter romance, when a little girl wishes that her dad would come to life and marry her dad. What he doesn’t expect is to walk outside and find the doll’s lookalike, who also happens to be the girl he hasn’t been able to stop thinking about since last New Year’s eve.

Nate is one of the sweetest MCs and he has been pining away for Jules since she ghosted him after what he thought was an amazing night. He’s also a single dad and has the sweetest family even if they meddle in his love life. When she realizes that she may have jumped to conclusions, she decides to give Nate a chance. What ensues is a sweet and spicy romance that just leaves you feeling good.

Savannah Peachwood and Sebastian York are fabulous narrators and really brought this story to life. I was smiling the entire time!

If This Was a Movie is the second book in the Evergreen Park series, following Jules and Nate. Their story starts on New Year’s Eve, when they meet in a bar and get snowed in together. They spend two magical days together, and it feels like the start of something real. Jules then sees a photo that makes her think Nate is married, so she blocks him and disappears from his life. Fast forward a year, and Jules finds herself dealing with damage due to a water main break. Shortly after, while Jules is standing outside her home, a little girl approaches her, saying Jules is her Christmas wish. Turns out that little girl is Nate's daughter Sophie, and now Jules and Nate are back in each other's orbits again.

I loved Jules and Nate together. They had amazing chemistry! Nate is truly the sweetest guy and was so incredibly patient. He does everything he can to show Jules how much he cares. He was down bad for her! This man watched all of her favorite romantic comedies. He also made a list of all of her favorite things. Nate was perfect. It took some time for me to warm up to Jules. After discovering she was wrong about Nate, I wanted her to let it go and just be with him. Instead, she was still hesitant and a bit immature about things. I'm glad she finally gave this beautiful man a chance. Sophie was a scene-stealer. She was so cute, and her connection with Jules was heartwarming. I loved how easily Jules fit into Nate and Sophie's lives. If This Was a Movie is a cozy, small-town love story with a touch of holiday magic and all the feels.

Narration:
Savannah Peachwood and Sebastian York perform this audiobook in dual-style narration. They did such a wonderful job with this story. Savannah and Sebastian were the perfect voices for Jules and Nate, and brought them to life in the best way. They brought the fun banter, steam, and emotion. This was an enjoyable listening experience that left a smile on my face.

This was the most romantic thing I have listened to yet. It’s like a movie . The way this man falls for her at first sight . It was instant. Sometimes when one is so obsessed with someone they sometimes forget major details to tell that person . That happened here and I felt so bad for how things ended for them. I was so happy with the second chance in this story. I was instantly in love with this audiobook. The narrators oh my made the characters sound drool worthy one minute and so romantic the next. They did a phenomenal job with these characters. It was truly a pleasure to listen to.
