About this listen

Nanette Johnston Packard, a sexy divorcee, liked to meet men at the gym and through personal ads. Soon after she began dating millionaire Bill McLaughlin, he moved her and her kids into his bayfront home in Newport Beach. But one man was never enough for Nanette....

Eric Naposki, her NFL linebacker lover, fulfilled Nanette's wilder cravings. Together they schemed to make her fiance's fortune their own. When McLaughlin was gunned down, authorities had suspicions - but no proof. Pulitzer-nominated writer Caitlin Rother explores this chilling story of a woman who seemed to have it all - until justice finally had its day.

SOCIOPATH MUCH??

Basically a pretty interesting story. However, there were so many characters and so many details - too many to keep track of! A lot of unnecessary facts and figures that ultimately made it very difficult to follow. The narrator has a pleasant speaking voice albeit with kind of a strange cadence. Worth a listen, though, if you like true crime.

did not enjoy the way this story was told

seems to me the book was overly long and the author did not go into the family of the victim enough. imho it was not told like telling a story. I was disappointed but not completely disappointed hence I gave it a 3 rating

not totally impressed

the author went back and forth too much about the financial aspect and lost me, sticking to the final fact would have helped. she does a great job of describing characters and relativity to the story.

Very good interesting book

Initially I had a little trouble following this book but once I got into it a few hours I really enjoyed it and the author did a great job researching everything along book but worth the read.

Factual account of shocking crimes

This is a detailed account of crimes that would surpass my ability to suspend my disbelief if the genre were fiction. Admittedly, I would have found the work more engrossing it the author had deviated a little from the facts to make the account more "up close and personal."

Long and pointless. Did I mention looooong

I rarely leave reviews, I’ll usually stick out a true crime because at least you know there’s a plot in there somewhere. But in this case, DNF’d because I just didn’t care anymore. The worst editing, book should be about 8 hours shorter.
