About this listen

He kidnapped me for vengeance against my husband.

The husband I’ve never loved.

The cruel man my father forced me to marry to teach me a lesson.

My husband didn’t think twice about how to carry out those lessons.

Now, I’ve gone from one prison to another.

My captor is just as ruthless as my husband. He’ll kill, torture, and do everything to hurt my family until no one is left.

Except for me.

Aidan’s made it clear he’s keeping me as his trophy.

And the more I understand his twisted thoughts and crave his heated gaze, the deeper I drown in our world.

It’s where everything that shouldn’t happen does—the place that defies all laws and rules—the one where guilt reigns and you still can’t help but want what you shouldn’t.

Illicit Captor is book two of Mafia Wars Ireland. It’s a kidnapping romance with forbidden-love, enemies-to-lovers, forced-proximity, age-gap, and dark mafia themes. For mature audiences only.

Would Ya Rather?

The more I read or listen to this book, the more Aiden grows on me. I was in the fence for a bit, but I've come around.

When it comes to Scarlet, my heart broke for her. She and Alaina were dealt a crappy hand when it came to family, but blood isn't what makes family. That's something that they've both learned.

Tully continues to earn respect with the way he's bonded with both women, but especially Scarlet. I really love the relationship that grows between them.

The narrators are Wen Ross and Ava Lucas. I've enjoyed both in the past and continued to in this reading. The accents dropped occasionally, but still good performances.

It had everything I wanted and expected from Scarlet and Aidan story. Emotional, heartbreaking, fun, flirty, steamy and soo much more. I love this world Maggie created and can't wait for more. The only thing I was 100% happy was the narration..don't get me wrong they did a good job but the accents were a little off..Wen has a strong Irish accent but Ava didn't so to me it was confusing since the narration was duet and they didn't quite match. They did a good job just not a fantastic one. I still highly recommend this book and the rest of the series.

Dark Romance!

Illicit Captor is the second book in the Mafia Wars Ireland Series, a kidnapping dark mafia romance. This is another great addition to the series. This interconnected series focus on a different couple per book. Aidan and Scarlet's story is intense, suspenseful, raw, and captivating. Aidan is enigmatic, revengeful, and ruthless. Scarlet is beautiful and strong. They are opposites attract. This age gap romance is well written, and intriguing. Some scenes are very dark. The supporting characters are great. I loved to see again Brody (Aidan's brother) and Alaina (Scarlet's sister) from Illicit King, the first book in the series. Wen Ross and Ava Lucas did a good job bringing this story to life. Looking forward to listening to Illicit Heir, the next book in the series. If you like dark mafia romance, this series is for you!

Hottest Series-Best Audio

Wow..be prepared for hotness overload with this amazing second book in Maggie Cole’s new Irish Mafia Wars series. Book 2 follows the dangerous and oh so sexy Aidan O’Connor goes to rescue Scarlet O’Leary (Alaina’s sister) who’s been forced by their Da to marry Tommy. Scarlet has been emotionally, physically, and sexually abused by Tommy and she can’t believe that someone is actually there to rescue her!

Wen Ross captures Aidan with sheer perfection. He has an amazing accent that only adds to this amazing narration. Wen capture Aidan’s personality and all his quirks. He brings Aidan’s character larger than life and you will devour every second of this phenomenal story!!

Ava Lucas is perfect for Scarlet. She has an amazing depth for all the heartache that Scarlet had gone through. She captures all her emotions through this narration. You will fall even harder for Scarlet and Aidan after listening this audiobook. It is sheer genius that Maggie selected these narrators because no one else would be able to deliver this level of performance. Happy Listening!!

Steamy

Wen Ross and Ava Lucas never disappoint. They brought Aidan and Scarlet to life. Scarlet was forced to marry a horrible man by her father. Aidan wants to make him suffer. He kidnaps Scarlet and sparks fly. What was supposed to be a revenge act, may be the best thing he could have done. I love hearing the book as it transports me to a world Maggie has created.

Dark Mafia Forbidden Romance

Illicit Captor by Maggie Cole is a dark mafia forbidden romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Wen Ross and Ava Lucas. This is the second book in the Mafia Wars Ireland series.

I really enjoyed the relationship that bloomed between Aidan and Scarlet. It was messy but you couldn't help but root for them. I liked that we got both of their points of views throughout the book.

I can't wait for the next book in the series Illicit Heir to be released on August 15, 2023, so I can get Devin's story.

Wen and Ava did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you like dark romances, mafia romances, kidnapping romances, forbidden romances, age gap romances, or forced proximity romances.

Great story, annoying narration

I loved the story. Ava Lucas was fabulous. Wen Ross’s accent grated on my nerves!

Awesome Story & Narration🎧 Wild & Captivating!

Maggie Cole pens another winning novel set in her “Mafia Wars Ireland” series, a dark romance that is captivating from start to end. This book picks up soon after the first book, “Illicit King”, ends, and is Aidan O’Connor and Scarlet Ahern’s story, Aiden is Brody’s brother and Scarlet is Alaina’s sister, the lead characters in the first book. I recommend starting the series with the first book, not only is it an amazing book, but the world building starts there and knowing what occurred in that book is beneficial and adds depth to this story. The O’Leary and O’Connor clans are rival clans in Ireland, and the families do things differently, and one of the big differences is the way they treat their women. Jack O’Leary, Alaina and Scarlet’s father, was old school and in his eyes, women were just a commodity, even his own daughters. When he could not arrange a marriage for Alaina, he made Scarlet marry the evil Tommy Ahern. Alaina was told her sister was dead, but she wasn’t. Aidan had his own agenda, was going to settle a vendetta with Tommy, starting with taking his wife, which he does, kidnapping her right out of the prison Tommy kept her in. Instead of taking her straight to Alaina, he has other plans for her,and uses the excuse that it is for her protection, but it is so much more. Scarlett did not have it easy with Tommy, but he did not take break her or take the fire out of her and one thing that Aidan loves is playing with fire. Aidan got more than he bargained for when he took Scarlet, and it was great to watch these two interact and get to know each other. I thought they were great together and for each other, but when their little bubble bursts, their secluded time together is up. Aidan was determined to keep her away from Tommy, to get her to safety where he will have to suffer the consequences of his action. I loved how everything played out this book, the writing and the plotting is fantastic and there is plenty of drama, angst twists and turns, thrilling suspense and steamy romance. Maggie Cole, thank you for another amazing story and the wild emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the fantastic narration, Wen Ross and Ava Lucas were the perfect cast to bring these characters to life and did so with a complete understanding of who they were portraying. Ava Lucas’ take on Scarlet was fantastic, grasping every side of her personality from her vulnerabilities to her sass. Wen Ross played the perfect Irish mobster, showing all sides of Aiden’s personality, from his hardened and brutal side to his softer and caring side. Both were fabulous performing the roles of the secondary characters too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and projected them into their performance. These versatile voice artists are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another amazing listen.
