About this listen

Twenty-five years ago, four kids entered a dark forest. Only three came out.

Everyone was a suspect. One man was condemned. The police closed the case. A mother became obsessed.

Still haunted by her brother's disappearance and the high-profile murder trial that gripped the nation, New York homicide detective Kara Walker deals with survivor's guilt by tracking down killers. But as the anniversary of her brothers abduction approaches, Kara receives news of her mother's death and is drawn back to her rural hometown in the Olympic Peninsula to tie up loose ends. She soon makes a shocking discovery that brings into question the facts surrounding her brother's case, her mother's obsession, and the man who pled not guilty.

In a race against time to find the real killer, Kara must risk losing her mind, jeopardize the safety of those close, and face her darkest fear, all to answer the question - who is truly innocent?

Full of twists and turns that keep you guessing, I'm Still Here delivers a captivating mystery thriller that forces you to question how far you would go to solve the disappearance of a loved one.

Middle of the road...

The story itself wasn’t bad, but the narration was bothersome to me. Several words were mispronounced and the voices that some of the characters were given were almost mechanical.

Book Was Good Except For The Part About...

The book is actually good but I had a true issue w/ the reference to Ms.. Maya Angelou's poem "Still I Rise" being referred to as, "I Rise" and not one person at the memorial being an American Black to correct the travesty. No, non American Black is going to choose that poem to read at a memorial for missing children. I appreciate the author taking the ignaitive to honor Ms.. Angelou but let's be realistic.

Now, the narrator was on point. The story line is good. However, the reason dude was taking the kids was a little weak and glimpsed over. He stated why in all of 20 seconds.

I enjoyed the book and would definitely advise others to listen to it despite the fact they will get upset about the poem reference as well.

Narration let down

I am only to chapter 3 of the book but I had to write this review. After listening to the Jack Winchester series with that narrator, it's hard to adapt to this one. The narrator for the Jack Winchester series was clearly a veteran professional and probably an actor he was so good at switching accents and characters. I feel like this narrator is in the beginning stages of her career and it's really hard for me to listen to the conversation between her and her ex. A lot of times their characters blend into each other or get swapped and it's probably just a matter of practice but after how amazing the Jack Winchester series was both mentally and verbally it's hard not to be a critique.

Edge of your seat who done it

I loved this listen. I could not stop listening I needed all the answers.

The narrator takes you along for a ride with them you see the rustling tree of the woods, you smell the coffee in the police station you feel the fear of the characters.

Im still here will have you suspecting everyone and trusting no one.

Great book

What a great book, couldn’t quit listening right up to the end. Liked the voice and tone of the reader which is a difficult find for me. I have quit listening to books because of the reader. I did figure out who the killer was but would definitely recommend.

Very good mystery.

Well written, though the beginning had been a little rough for me. The story and the plot was very good. The ending was definitely a little twist, though the culprit was on my suspect list. The narrator did a good job as well.

Worst narration on Audible.

Sounds like a female version of the good doctor. I have never written a review before, but I had to warn the listeners of this book. The story is fine but the narration is the worst I've ever heard on audible.
