Great first book

I really enjoyed the book. I wasn’t wild about the narrator at first, although he got better as he went along and he managed a LOT of accents. The science was really intriguing - the author did SO much varied research on so many topics. Impressive. I knew about halfway through that this will be a series, but unlike some books, Mark D Owen did a nice job of keeping this story the focus. Well done overall. I’m looking forward to the next in the series!

Intriguing and Captivating

The story starts with an intense scenario that pre-pandemic seemed unimaginable, but not so in our current world relationships. I became rapt as the story unfolded, reshaped and danced me about the Astrophysics and the interpersonal relationships of the characters. I am also impressed by the creative convention used for character names. It’s all in this great listen for a long drive. I kept my stops short so that I could continue listening to Impact, by Mark D Owen.

Impeccable acting of a great sci-fi

The book had me from the start. Gabriel Michael’s acting and narration throughout kept me play chapter after chapter. His voice over the word of this awesome book was a perfect match. Must listen!!!

Kept getting better

It was a good story, well written, and engaging. Somewhat bittersweet as the world faces its doom yet narrowly escapes it. It’s somewhat thought provoking, exciting, and not too heavy.

But what stood out most was the performance. While some of the foreign accents could have been better as the story progressed the overall performance just fell into a groove. At one point I actually thought to myself how effortless it felt. All the characters felt defined, their own voices consistent and clear, and it just flowed. I really enjoy this narrator / voice actor.
