About this listen

When the dive team is called in to recover a body from a submerged car, they aren't prepared to find an encrypted laptop - or an unsettling connection between investigator Adam Campbell and the dead accountant.

Adam turns to his friend Dr. Sabrina Fleming - a professor at the local university with unparalleled computer security and forensics skills - to recover the files from the laptop. But the deeper they dig, the deadlier the investigation becomes. When evidence uncovers a human trafficking ring and implicates members of Adam's own family, he and Sabrina will have to risk everything to solve the case.

The truth could set hundreds free, but someone is willing to do whatever it takes to silence anyone who threatens to reveal their secrets.

Award-winning author Lynn H. Blackburn invites listeners back to Carrington, North Carolina, where everything is not as it seems and sinister elements lurk behind the idyllic façade.

Excellent!

I love when I discover a new author, at least, new to me. I enjoyed this book more than the first because this narrator, Kitty Hendrix, did an excellent job! This story was very well written and suspenseful. A keeper, for me!

Good Story-Pathetic Accent

Gabe"s mexican accent was horrible. Nearly ruined the book. I live in El Paso TX and the accent wasn't even close.

Good - if you can accept the elements of a Southern Christian worldview

I hadn’t vetted this title carefully so found myself surprised when the characters suddenly prayed for e.g. discernment or courage. I’ve never seen that in a book before, but found it interesting.

The American South is a very different world from mine and I stayed with it even through the cringe-inducing naïveté of the main characters.

The rescue of the victims of people-smuggling was gripping, as were the complex family dynamics. Even adult children said ‘yes sir’ and ‘yes ma’am’ to their parents - I have no idea if that detail was realistic or not.

It was a fascinating glimpse into a parallel existence but I wouldn’t read another of the same genre. The narration was excellent.

Fantastic!

I absolutely loved this book! The author did such a wonderful job developing the characters that I found myself smiling and “awww”-ing outloud as relationships formed and grew throughout the story. The content kept me on the edge of my seat from the beginning and the narrator was absolutely top notch and engaging in her delivery. I also appreciate the author taking the opportunity to bring to light the very real and prevalent issue of human trafficking in her story. I don’t think many are aware that this issue occurs everywhere and that there are more than 40 million people enslaved worldwide. The statistics truly are staggering. I pray that through this story, others will seek ways they can work in their communities to end it. Check out enditmovement.com for ways to make a difference. (I’m not affiliated in any way with this organization, just passionate about this cause and hopeful that others will take a stand along with me!)

Great sequel!

I read Lynn Blackburn's Beneath the Surface and truly enjoyed it. I immediately began In Too Deep just hoping it would be as good as the first book in the series. If anything, I enjoyed this second book even more. It was great to come back to familiar characters and to appreciate another interesting tale well told. If you are a fan of Dee Henderson's books or Terri Blackstock's mysteries, I encourage you to try this series by Lynn Blackburn. I have been delighted, and I hope that you will be too.

Excellent mystery.,intriguing plot development.

I really enjoyed this book. It kept me coming back for more. Great story and easy to follow but not so easy to guess the ending.
