Publisher's summary

No one needs to push Nikki Boyd to excel on the Tennessee Missing Person Task Force. The case of her own missing sister, still unsolved after 10 years, is the driving force in her work. When a Polaroid photo of a missing girl shows up at a crime scene, Nikki quickly recognizes similarities to the past. The closer she gets to the abductor, the more she feels that this case is getting personal and that she is not the hunter at all - but actually the one being hunted.

With this explosive first book in the new Nikki Boyd Files, Lisa Harris takes listeners on a fast-paced pursuit of justice that will have them holding their breath until the heart-stopping finish.

I couldn't finish it

I love a good story, I really love one that is Christ centered, I can't really say I would call this a Christ centered book. It's a clean read which is great, I really like how the author could write such a hard topic novel, I like the reality of it concerning the topic but what I do not like and the reason I couldn't finish is because I do not like when woman are depicted as weak. Here you have a trained officer/specialist with history of her sister being abducted and she just isn't train or reactive or even prepared to be in life threatening situations. She never seen anyone stalking her, the ex military train specialists never seen anyone stalking him, no one is ready when the crazy person does something crazy and no one calls for help/back up when they should. Thus could just be me but I walk out of movies when things get stupid TO ME so this is just me.

Good but a bit long

Loved that the unmarried love interests were not locking lips and lusting after each other's bodies. That happens too often in Christian Romance.

Good Listen

Good struggle to find a young lady who goes missing. I liked the plot twist and how it kept moving forward with the larger story of Nikki Boyde.

Mystery

Too long and too many rabbit trails about things that had nothing to do with the mystery.

Very Enjoyable!

I loved this story, fell in love with the characters and really enjoyed the plot. As the book started out, I wasn't sure of the narrator, but she totally grew on me.
The fact that there were so many emotions, bad guys, agents and cops, all without swearing, sex or gore make this book twice as enjoyable for me.
I am reading for the next on!!

great christian book

I really enjoyed this book. it was a great and riviting mystery. girls are disappearing but nener found. federal agent family seems to be the target and especially she herself. who wants her dead and why? this is a clean mystery without the sleasy sex some authors think so necessary.

Good story, not so great narration

The story line is really good. The weak heroine gets a bit annoying. The narrator does a decent job in changing voices, but there are really long pauses between statements (so much that I periodically checked to see if the app had shut down) and she lacks greatly in portraying emotion. She reads too slowly and just gave the whole experience a really depressing feel instead of one of suspense.

Great book but not a fan of the reader.

Great book and story line. I really enjoyed it but the readers performance was really hard to listen to, there were a LOT of long pauses in between some phrases that really disrupted the flow of the story.

Good start to the series

This was a good stand alone story, with a resolution of the mystery and no cliffhangers. There is, however, a good lead in to the next book. I appreciate the clean read and subtle Christian message.

I liked the twists and turns this book took.

I enjoyed the plot of the book and the characters but had to listen at 1.25x. The narration was just a bit too slow for me. I wish Audible still had the 1.15x which would have been perfect for this narration. I really appreciate the clean writing without the usual foul language and unnecessary sex scenes and I do recommend this book. Some of the plot was a little bit of a stretch to me in places and the author clearly does not understand how a grenade fuse works, but overall it was pretty good. The twists and turns of the plot kept me guessing who the perpetrator was and, I admit it, I was really watching the wrong character.
