I didn’t mean to see him naked - it was an accident.

It had to be, right?

Because Noah McCormick and I have never been anything more than friends. In all the years I’ve known him, he’s never once laid a finger on me. And even though he was a cute lifeguard at 16 and a hotter-than-hell sheriff’s deputy at 34, he's always been that protective guy I could trust to keep his hands to himself. I never wanted to mess with that.

Until I walked in on him getting out of the shower and saw his hard, muscular body totally bare and dripping wet. At that moment I never wanted to mess with anything so badly in my entire life.

I should have covered my eyes. Said I was sorry. At the very least, I could have handed him a towel.

After all, I was only in town for a few days, and he was just doing me a favor by escorting me to my sister’s wedding. It wasn’t a real date.

But I didn’t apologize. And he didn’t cover up.

(Talk about a hot mess.)

After all those years of being just friends, suddenly we’re insatiable.

He’s made it clear he’s not interested in romance. Which is fine with me because I’ve got a plane ticket back to my real life at the end of the week.

It’s all in fun...or is it?

I cried so hard during this book as it was so real to me. As a Mom of a sowcusl needs adult, I relate to the characters so well. Thank you Melanie Harlow for this real depiction of this fellow Michigander's life!!
Well Done!

Thoroughly enjoyed this story , its contents and the Characters. Stephen Dexter and Savannah Peachwood were the perfect duo in the telling of their story. A women's hero literally and figuratively and his struggles of denying his own happiness out of a sense of guilt of his and his brothers birth selection in life. Luve does conquer all.

This book redeemed the previous Oliver and Chloe’s book. This book was so good. I’m excited to continue to the next book.

So good!

As always, Melanie Harlow writes another smash hit! I really love these stories and I love getting to know the families and characters of these small towns.
I will say, the one downside is that this book and another book are both narrated by the same people: Savannah and Stephen. It makes telling the characters apart a little challenging but they do a wonderful job!

Dynamite!

IMO I know a book is good when I'm having a conversation with or about the characters in my head. When their inner dialogue is going and I'm answering right along. I love when a book and the story has me laughing, blushing, grinning, heart beating fast and anxious about what's next...and clutching my pearls. I could feel these characters.

Noah had me so mad at him! He definitely needed an anger management class. Him attacking the guy at the bar was a little disappointing though understandable. I was kind of looking forward to him running for Sheriff, but there was that skeleton as his folks brushed it under the carpet. I'm inclined to believe his ex was verbally abused.
As much I say I need the heros to be a little less "all in immediately " he definitely was and wasn't all at the same time. He surprised me a lot. He had the weight of the world (self inflicted) on his shoulders but I did love him. He was a big character to figure out. He worked everyday. He wasn't rich. Normal. These billionaire men and financially challenged women books were working my nerves.
Meg was my SheRo. Not a wheeping violet. Loved that she had her own money and a good career. Willing to make a change for family and love. Her realization that she was the one holding relationships at bay was a nice touch. I resonated with her.
I saw the series and llistened to this one first and boy am I glad I did. I am starting to be ok with not having to read a whole series in order. I loved this book. The heat in this book was perfect. They went in. Noah definitely had a bit of a dark side. It was detailed without seeming fake and forced. Before he picked her up he turned out the lights and drew the blackout drapes....wait what?! Yep Noah had layers!
The story was not saccharinly sweet, not boring not predictable at all. I hate that it took them 17 years to figure it out but that is a good story for you. You get vested in the relationship. The book was realistic. Often we are so in a hurry for our HEA that we don't get the details. This was paced well and well done. Thirty three and the walk of shame. I loved it! Definitely insatiable.

Noah's family A+(his twin loved him.)
Meg's family well done. Debating if I want to go into the rest of the sister's stories.
Maybe I'll just listen to this one again.

Savannah Peachwood is one of my favorite narrators. She's not over the top with the male voices nor sugary sweet with the female. Love her.
Stephen Dexter is now on my list of favorite male narrators listen to. He had me with all the feelings. All of the emotions jumped off the pages. Noah really had issues. Stephen's narration was great. Definitely did it for me. In the middle of the book I had to stop and google him and his books. How had I missed him?

Overall story A+
Relatability A+
Characters A+ (I loved/hated Noah)
Spice A+
Keeper A+

Chloe and Noah have been best friends ever since he saved her life about 20 years ago. Home for a visit for her sister's wedding, they finally act on their chemistry. Will Noah be able to overcome his fear of a relationship in time before he loses Chloe? I really liked this latest book and I can't wait to listen to the next 2 books about the remaining Sawyer sisters. Savannah Peachwood and Stephen Dexter were great narrators.
