Classic Cook...but...?

The story line is good but what happens during the first part of the book is somewhat lost. You might thing that he is attempting to introduce characters but Robin did not need to spend so much ink doing it. Solid story and draws you to the conclusion... wait... it didn't.

Intriguing but incomplete

I like this book but I was disappointed with what seemed to be his losing focus on the story and then some weird incomplete ending. I️t seemed like a lot of time was focused on the beginning build up with lots of unnecessary and inconsequential story line and then quickly finished. I usually love the writers books but this one left me blah.

Educational and intriguing

What made the experience of listening to Intervention the most enjoyable?

Wanting to know the answer to the burning question...

Who was your favorite character and why?

Jack, the protagonist. His feelings and thinking about his feelings were on target.

Which character – as performed by George Guidall – was your favorite?

Jack. The only failing of this book was that sometimes the male voices were so similar, I had to rewind to remember who was talking.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes.

Any additional comments?

Was it really necessay to have Laurie's 1st baby suffer from a terminal illness. I wanted more information about that and more hopefulness-it cast a sadness over the whole book.

An okay listen

Great narration as always from Guidall, but this book wasn't as good as some of Cook's other books. I thought the biblical details were distracting and not particularly interesting (and I majored in Religion!). It seemed a little Dan Brown-ish, but not in a good way. My attention definitely waned a bit in the middle of this one, though the story picked up when Cook brought the two stories together, about 3/4 of the way through. ,

I have truly enjoyed every Robin Cook novel. I keep waiting for Jack StPleton to find some real happiness.

Why all the negative reviews!?!

Am I missing something? I liked it!

Ok it was maybe not his BEST, it’s not much of a medical thriller, the ending is rather abrupt and I agree it’s a little Dan Brown-esque (although it’s a a comparison that annoys me because it’s based on the most common denominator) still, I can’t say it’s his WORST; if so, his worst effort is still pretty good.

Perhaps the “haters” just had higher expectations? They’ve read (and better remembered compared to me) the tone of all this other stories and therefore by comparison this one did not meet up?

Overall I enjoyed the story and I will definitely be in for further instalments! In fact, I think I'll move on to the next one right away.

Robin Cook as always keeps you THERE.

What made the experience of listening to Intervention the most enjoyable?

The suspense of what would happen to the child.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The medical examiner, who's thoughts about alternative medicine seem to be changing or not.

What about George Guidall’s performance did you like?

GG's voice changed with each character, so you knew immediately who was talking.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely!

Any additional comments?

what happened to part 3? it's like an Alfred Hitchcock story - Audio says look for the next part, but it isn't there.....
I want to know who the phone call was from, etc....
