It’s ok

Not a great story. Narrator sounded childlike to me. Didn’t match the story. First book in the series was much better

Very weird narration

I tried to listen to the book but the narration was.....just bad. The multiple voices she attempted were,.. very childlike. It was very hard to focus on the story.

Poor narration

The narration made it difficult to listen to the story. There were a number of words mispronounced and the narrators attempts at different voices was really poor.

The narrator’s voice!

I thought I was listening to a child narrate the story. Given the action of the plot, it just didn’t work for me. I enjoyed the author’s first book in this series, so I am disappointed that I’ll not even finish the second.

Good character development for main characters.

Good sorry. Terrible narrator. It was difficult to listen to the whole book without stopping out of frustration. The narrator sounded like she was two and couldn’t pronounce words correctly.

terrible narration

Narrator sounded as if she were a toddler. This took away from what could have been an interesting story line. The previous book in this series HD a much better narrator.

The narration wrecks it

i had to abandon this book. The narration is abysmal. Couldn't comment on the plot as I was too distracted by the performance.

I feel dumber after that

This was so awful!!! I feel it made me dumber. It's like an adult novel written by a child. So many times she explains to us basic things anyone old enough to drive knows. She wrote all the drug use/users very oddly. That's the only way to put it.

Every aspect of the story is odd. Minimal character development. The ones in here are total cliche s. It's like it was pulled from horrible tv cop shows.

Then, what finally put it over the top..the narration. Who mispronounces that many basic English words! The voices she used for these characters where sooooo bad, all I can say. It's mainly the male characters, they quickly become annoying. Have over 1,500 I've gotten here over 12 years, this is only the 8th I returned.

Narration so bad I couldn’t finish

I have listened to almost 100 books and never have I not finished one, but the narrators voice, inflections, fake accents, fake voice changes for different characters were so horrible I could not finish. The narrator does this poor author such a disservice.

New Narrator Dooms Book Two

The first audiobook in this series interested me enough to try book two (since they're included with membership for now). While the characters and predicaments are predictable, the local atmosphere held the novel together. Unfortunately the new Narrator for the second book is UNBEARABLE. Everyone sounds like they've inhaled helium! A middle-aged assistant sounds like a toddler. The new (male) detective is a squeaky soprano. Every dramatic interpretation is so cartoonish (and annoying) that I can't promise I will finish...
