Publisher's summary

Charles Band's Full Moon Entertainment was the most remarkable B-movie studio of the 1990s, responsible for a barrage of sci-fi, fantasy, and horror classics during the last true "golden age" of the home video era. From Puppetmaster to Trancers and beyond, Full Moon transformed the VHS experience for fans worldwide, bringing the inner workings of the movie-making process into the living room, and in turn creating a ravenous fan base that remains to this day. This book tracks the history of the company, from its late 80s birth among the ruins of the American drive-in through to its bid to survive in the modern digital world. Featuring rare artwork, behind-the-scenes photos, and over 50 exclusive interviews with the cast and crew who helped to create the legendary B-movie studio, this is an essential listen for any cult film fan still lamenting the death of the "mom 'n pop" video store.

Great history of Charles Band's producing career

Very well written and entertaining. The performance was a bit off-putting though. The reader's cadence and timber sound like a movie trailer, which for 20 hours gets awkward and very unnatural sounding. Also he mispronounces so many words, and probably 1/3 of the names. Sometimes he pronounces the same name 2 or 3 different ways...it's very distracting. Great book though.

It’s pronounced “Brink-Eee” Stevens, not “Brink”

This is a great book for anyone who loves behind the scenes Hollywood tales, but I wish the narrator spent just two minutes googling how to pronounce the names of his subjects.

Pure detail gold...

Wonderful insights, perspectives and overviews from the authors and spectrum of crew members into the behind the scenes perspectives of this history making network of individuals, ideas, hard work, hits and misses. Highly recommended for fans of the subject matter, individuals involved and the projects surrounding Charles Band and Full Moon history.

A fan

I have been a fan of full moon since I was a child. in the 80s and this book does not disappoint. It is very informative and goes inside each of the franchises. If you are a fan of the classic horror series, puppet, Master, like I am, you will definitely love this book.

Terrific book

This book was absolutely what I needed at this moment in my life. It's an entertaining and thoroughly researched history of Full Moon over the years. If I were to have a complaint, I'd say it makes occasional statements that feel like there was a missing chapter about Charles Band's earlier company Empire International Pictures that the authors are referring back to, but that could be more my reading than anything.

The narration was good overall. He was a good choice a voice for the material. There were a small number of sentences that are emphasized oddly, like he was reading it for the first time and didn't understand the meaning until he'd finished that probably should been re-recorded. I would have ignored that, but he really should have gotten a pronunciation guide on all of the names. I would have accepted he might be right on some I'm not sure of, if he didn't mispronounce a bunch I know for sure, like Klaus Kinski.

Enjoyable

Overall really enjoyable and insightful into the massive library of laughably bad movies. Great stories about being on set, and working on movies. Amazing their movies are still made, most recently Corona Zombies 💀

It just drags on and on

The plot is non existent, this book just drags on and on with random stories about full moon with no direction. Charles Band’s book is much better.
