Publisher's summary

Welcome to a world of fantasy, fairy tales, and murder most foul . . . .

My name's Elle. Princess Arielle, for those who know about my past. Cursed by my own father, now I'm banished to Grimm. I'm a siren, killer, and one of the best damned cold-case detectives in all of the bloody realms. I don't stop until I discover the truth, no matter where that truth leads.

My next case sends me to Wonderland, a harrowing place of madness and dark secrets. I'd rather be landlocked than step foot on that tainted soil, but I don't have a choice after discovering Alice's bloodstained ribbon and a bandicoot's claw covered in blood beside two stiffs at the Charmings' sprawling castle. My insatiable thirst for truth leads to a conspiracy that will not only rock the Grimm world but also my own.

No one ever walks away from Wonderland unscathed.... No one.

Unique take on fairytales

This book uses fairytale characters in a manner that is more unique than a typical retelling. With the main character having the same elemental story line characteristics that link her to the mythical character, the book unravels how mermaids and sirens are closely related. The book builds a dynamic character to the mermaid, Ariel, in a way that sparks intrigue.

The writer alludes to a darkness that plaques characters in fairytales and is often a prequel to the emergence of mainstream princesses and princes. Many characters hold secrets and are presented in situations that force the listener to consider morally gray areas. The concept of good and evil being white and black is disrupted.

Performance of female/trans/non-binary characters allows for the listener to fall into the fantasy and imagery described. Some male characters do not hold the gusto mentioned in their character’s speech. A more noticeable change in tempo or pause would help to form their image in a response.

A fantastic adult fairy tale mash-up!

This story had everything I wanted. It was sexy, smart, involved fairytales, and had a mystery to boot. I can't wait to follow Elle and Hatter on more adventures.

Excellent twist on traditional fisry tales

I love the worlds the author created in this modern fairy tale. The characters are fully fleshed out, but surprisingly different than the ones we know. And the plot keeps the listener on their toes the whole time.
Chelsea Stephens does a amazing job bringing believable and interesting characters to life. Her performance of Maddox was a particular favorite.

Holy woke garbage Batman!

Idk how a story about the little mermaid and all her other "Once Upon a Time" friends, didn't get sued by disney, but WOW. This book with a one dimensional horny MC gets so woke, that they manage to cover ALL of thier woke ideologies. By the end of the book you're trudging through so much woke vomit, you could really miss the 2 page climax. Too bad too, the characters are interesting enough to actually make for a decent story. Even with this being a brand new author.
